You got yours, now I got mine
Hey guys,
Finally got my '06 NBP w/ ebony interior, AT w/ navi. Lease is $469 a month with 0 down and all taxes including for 36 months through Honda of America.
I spent the whole weekend drivign this car, and man, what a car it is. So smooth, absorbed NYC bumps easily. The bluetooth feature is great, cant get enough of it. Such a major change from a Scion tC that I had.
Well out of all the driving, I have a couple of questions.
1) When I start the car - it says "welcome driver 1" Can that be changed to "welcome Zhenya (my name)"
2) Is it normal for navi to be not very precise - what I mean by that is, I am at the intersection and it shows me that Im still a little behind. Do I have to recalibrate it through the diagnostic screen?
3) Another thing i noticed was when I press unlock, the lights turn on briefly and they turn off right away, until I start the car. Since HIDs last based on the amount of times that you turn them on and off, will this decrease their life
Thanks for your help guys

Hey, congrats on the upgrade! I'm going to give you answers from memory, so some of the MID settings info might be a little off, but this is generally how it goes:
1) Nope. That's just to distinguish the Driver1 vs. Driver2 keyfobs, which control memory seats and selectable MID settings.
2) The navi is actually really precise. Just not very accurate. (Engineer joke.) It knows exactly where you are, but displays you just a little behind. Notice how it doesn't routinely display you as 'east' or 'west' of where you are (north, south, etc...) but just a little behind in your route. It makes it easier to see where you lie in an intersection, complicated interchange, etc. You'll notice how precise it is when you start taking off-ramps and turns on computer-guided routes, where it will give you a '200 ft to turn... 100ft to turn... 0ft to turn...' guidance on the right side of the screen.
3) This is configurable in the selectable MID settings. Do the little dance to get it into Driver1 setup (get out your manual, you're gonna need it). You can configure the lights to come on for 15, 30, 60, 90 seconds, or not at all, after you hit unlock. Pick your poison. I went with 90 for the exact reason you stated. However, 90% of the time I drive with my modded accord key so I lose that functionality anyway, and am back to the default 30 seconds. Oh well.
