XM radio still working after trial?

Has this ever happened to anyone? My car was bought back in 7/10/06 and it's been more than three months already and my xm radio is still playing.

On 10/10/06, it started saying something like "you need to register on XM.com" or something like that and they even sent a billing in case we want to buy XM, but the radio stations still work. The car automatically resetting most of my preset stations to channel 1. However, I can still use the tune knob to tune to a specific station, sometimes jumping a few stations that stopped playing for me.

Even though most of them work, the are still 100+ stations to listen to.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

They don't cut it off exactly on your anniversary date....I think I got a few extra weeks past the 3-month anniversary

XM will send you a mailed renewal notice before your trail period ends. However, you should check out the thread concerning the 77 dollar renewal offer.

Sorry, don't know what happens if you let the trial period end without renewing. I would assume they just cut you off eventually.

they called twice already after my subscription ended. They keep trying to offer me a lame deal...low 3-month subscription, and then the regular price for the rest of the year...or something like that. I'll only jump on if they offer the 77/year deal.

If you read through the $77 deal thread, you'll see that a lot of people (myself included) got a generic postcard in the mail that said: Call to take advantage of this deal. No special promotional code was required. Just mention that you got the postcard in the mail and would like to take advantage of the $77/year deal.

I read it before I even got my TSX. I haven't gotten a postcard. I only spend 10 minutes in my TSX in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon. So 20 minutes a day (about 1 hour 30 minutes a week) isn't even worth $77/year...I don't have a need for their internet streaming either. If they offer, I'll do it but won't use it. If they don't offer, I won't do it and still won't need it.

I don't even know why I'd do the $77/year...probably because I don't like knowing that my TSX comes with a feature that's now disabled lol. I don't want to lie to anyone about receiving the postcard either...I've failed exams even though we were allowed to bring cheat sheets. If I can't remember the darn formula, then I really don't deserve to pass the test lol

After I called as my 3 month period was close to ending, the rep refused to give me the $77 deal and I refused his lame counter-offer. So he cut off my service immediately! I went to drive and turned on the XM but it swiftly deprogrammed. Eventually, I got the $77 deal after some more calls next day 'til I finally got a "nice" rep.

Does anyone know a way to disable the XM completely? I want the mode switch on the wheel to skip from CD straight to FM radio instead of the stupid XM preview station...

XM will continue to nag you through mail, email, and phone calls. I finally told this woman that called what I thought about XM. They haven't called back since then, but I still get the mail.

The funny thing is that they always call me while it's my turn to work at the front counter. The customers look annoyed as I'm standing there trying to tell them that I don't want it, and why I don't want it lol.

I've only received one thing in the mail, and it was 1 month after I got my TSX and they were trying to get me to sign up with their regular plan

sorry to revive an old thread... but I googled this. I have the same situation however, I got a 2007 TL used in 2010. The XM is working still, idk if the previous owner got a lifetime sub or not.. looks like it though. Navtraffic/weather is off though. I have on question, I want to upgrade the old 2006 DVD to the latest 2013, there is the $99 deal right now. If I do that, does the new DVD affect my XM Radio? I don't want to lose my lifetime sub lol
