XM radio still working after trial?
Has this ever happened to anyone? My car was bought back in 7/10/06 and it's been more than three months already and my xm radio is still playing.
On 10/10/06, it started saying something like "you need to register on XM.com" or something like that and they even sent a billing in case we want to buy XM, but the radio stations still work. The car automatically resetting most of my preset stations to channel 1. However, I can still use the tune knob to tune to a specific station, sometimes jumping a few stations that stopped playing for me.
Even though most of them work, the are still 100+ stations to listen to.

Sorry, don't know what happens if you let the trial period end without renewing. I would assume they just cut you off eventually.

they called twice already after my subscription ended. They keep trying to offer me a lame deal...low 3-month subscription, and then the regular price for the rest of the year...or something like that. I'll only jump on if they offer the 77/year deal.

I don't even know why I'd do the $77/year...probably because I don't like knowing that my TSX comes with a feature that's now disabled lol. I don't want to lie to anyone about receiving the postcard either...I've failed exams even though we were allowed to bring cheat sheets. If I can't remember the darn formula, then I really don't deserve to pass the test lol

After I called as my 3 month period was close to ending, the rep refused to give me the $77 deal and I refused his lame counter-offer. So he cut off my service immediately! I went to drive and turned on the XM but it swiftly deprogrammed. Eventually, I got the $77 deal after some more calls next day 'til I finally got a "nice" rep.

XM will continue to nag you through mail, email, and phone calls. I finally told this woman that called what I thought about XM. They haven't called back since then, but I still get the mail.

I've only received one thing in the mail, and it was 1 month after I got my TSX and they were trying to get me to sign up with their regular plan

Proud Acura Owner
sorry to revive an old thread... but I googled this. I have the same situation however, I got a 2007 TL used in 2010. The XM is working still, idk if the previous owner got a lifetime sub or not.. looks like it though. Navtraffic/weather is off though. I have on question, I want to upgrade the old 2006 DVD to the latest 2013, there is the $99 deal right now. If I do that, does the new DVD affect my XM Radio? I don't want to lose my lifetime sub lol
