workin out a deal for a new 05

So i just finished talking to a dealer. Im looking to buy an 05 non navi black on black auto. He started me off at 26,000. After talking with him he tells me that he can sell it to me at cost at 27182 otd. He said that the new invoice with the increased destination charges is 25,399. The dealership i was at adds splash guards to every car as well as something else i cant remeber but i checked it out online and he was right that they add $200 in accesories to every car. Add that onto the invoice and you have 25,600. The way that he explained taxes and tags to me there is a $115 tags price in maryland and 5% sales on top of that. With that i get 27,000 even. Am i wrong with this or does it look like that 27182 is not at cost? I called another dealership and asked if he could do better than 27182 and he said well im not sure id have to get back to you but i dont think that a can. Im waiting to hear back from him. Also, the dealer said it will take probably 2-4 weeks, closer to 4 to get a black on black auto non navi. this puts it at the beg. to the middle of sept. he said that the 06 wont be in till mid to late nov and will be probably about 1500 more, which makes a substantial difference to me. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure about $1500 more for the '06 (sounds like bs to me) but the OTD price he gave you is fairly reasonable. Edmunds has the invoice listed at $24784 so the absolute lowest you will probably find one is around $26.5k and that would be an unbelievable OTD price.

The other dealer just called me back and said that there is no way that he can go as low as the offer the first dealer gave me. He said that the absolute lowest that he can go is 27,650 otd and on the road. He said that he was sorry and that he isnt sure how the first dealer could go that low. He then said that if he were me he would take the first offer and run with it because its the lowest he has heard. So, the first dealer is faxing me a signed price quote just for me to be assured at which time I plan to put down a deposit. I'm pretty excited to be a tsx owner. I've loved this car since i saw it and first test drove it.

Sounds good. I paid 25,896 at a Maryland dealer last month for a 5AT non-nav. The price included the splash guards, the trunk mat, wheel locks and cargo net and a $100 document fee, plus TTL.

that's an awesome price! Take it and run! The dealer is right that it will probably take a while to get since they did stop the 05 production of TSX's in July. It's all a matter of what's on the boats from japan to get to the US. That and what's currently in the ports. Figure about a month to get the car. The deal with the price going up $1,500 is also pretty accurate. They TSX will have a few more feature in the 06, such as memory seating and possibly bluetooth.
