Will the rattles be gone in MY05?
I am glad to hear that Acura is able to fix these rattles that 2004 owners have been ailing from. Do you think that Acura has fixed these problems in the 2005 model?

Im sure they have fixed the problems that have Service Bulletins specific to the them (buzzing speakers) but since they haven't redone the entire car, there's a good chance some things will still rattle. My 04 doesnt have too many rattles, so I wouldnt be worried.

If the Acura plant in Japan is anything like the Toyota plant 10 miles north of me, it takes 30 minutes to change model years (Camry). The beauty of Lean Manufacturing, or whatever buzz word they call it this month.
New parts come to the line, old parts leave....in this case not much needs to change. Same manufacturing line, same people making the cars...most likely designs of windshield mounts or whatever else rattles have not been altered between MY's.
Long story short, I can't imagine drastic alterations have been made to parts across the board for the 2005, but rather minor changes are made gradually throughout production in general. Meaning when there was an inrush of complaints of part X rattling back in April-June of 2003, design changes were made, tested, and implemented sometime thereafter. Theoretically, problems will disappear over the life of production, but as we all know, you fight one fire, another starts to burn.

I've noticed some rattles in the cold weather, but overall the car is pretty tight. I agree that they tend to fix these things during production, so I doubt a new 2005 is going to have any fewer rattles than a late 2004.

Not an Ashtray
I have one of the first TSX's to come off the line. My only problems with rattles and buzzes has been the speaker issue that is the subject of the TSB. I also have had some problems with rattles in the door and sunroof. But, I was able to solve those 100% by wiping Vinylex on the relevant gaskets.

Isn't it likely that issues that have TSB's would be fixed in manufacturing for the 04s already? That is, that Honda would implement the fixes right away and not wait for a model year change. Unless the fix requires parts specific to the new MY, why wouldn't they make manufacturing changes ASAP? Certainly things like the tail light wiring recall get fixed immediately, I imagine that most other issues don't wait for a MY change.

Yep, any TSBs should be fixed from the factory as an implemeted manufacturing change. AFAIK there hasn't been a TSB on the windshield rattle or window squeaks although some people have been able to fix them.
