Why I love this car
Hi folks,
I figure to start a thread where people could list what they specifically like about their TSX and how they envision their future with this car. Here's mine. (Sorry if this is starting to sound like a marriage)
My break-in period is over. I finally hit 800 miles on my odometer and I finally began pushing the RPMs over the 3000 range to get a taste of what's cooking inside the hood.
I can honestly say that I am very impressed with the smooth and quiet acceleration of the TSX. At about 3000 RPMs to 5000 RPM, the car really showed it's strength and muscle. (Some of you may disagree but you have to understand I've been driving 4 cylinders pretty much my entire life. If you're coming from Maxima, TL-S, or any other car with lotsa HP, you may have a different view). I read a lot about the complaints regarding lack of HP/Torque issues but I think this car has ample amount of power for me.
I'm still gonna take it relatively easy until 1000 miles on the odometer and keep it out of the 6000 RPMs, but I can't wait to push the car harder than the day before.
Also thanks to you guys, I've taken a lot of advice from this forum and spent a good amount of money taking car of my TSX. Bought Zaino for the exterior, Lexol Cleaner/Conditioner for the seats, Vinylex for vinyl/rubber, Invisible Glass and Rain-X Windshield fluid for the windows. What else am I missing?
Fast forward another 55 years. . . Well, by the time i'm 80 years old, sitting on a rocking chair, smoking a pipe, and probably be flat out broke financially, I'll be reflecting on this time when I spent $30K on this car and I'll be saying to myself. . . "You did good. You did real good"

That post makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...
My future with the car? Fifteen years from now, I envision my friends asking me "why don't you just get rid of that ol' peice of shit TSX?" My answer will be something like: "I just can't. She's so reliable. I had her too long..." (in a pitiful voice like Candy talking about his old dog in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men). My wife will be begging me to sell it. My dad will finally be satisfied that I got my money's worth out of it. My other cars will be jealous of the special relationship I have with it (this is the first car I've owned). And I will still be wearing a smile every time I make a good shift.

Oh man- what a thread...I feel the same way as you do Whatcha..ma..l...ka......damn....whoever you are. I used to drive 95 Maxima and loved every bit of it(pretty quick you know?) but now I got this gorgeous looking w/ Smooth + Fast TSX. I don't envy people who drives BMW, MB...I'm just that satisfied with my choice. Every morning...I start the engine....Acura Navigation....whoa....what a beauty ain't it? Even though I hear lots of rattles from hell, that doesn't bother me at all. It's like instrumental. And who sayz this car is slow!!!!? I think TSX is the BEST $30K range car ever made. No Doubt.

Lung fu mo shi you have 9000 miles and you havent tried to see how fast your car goes? I think I pushed mine soon after the break in period. My top speed was 130. Was pretty scary when I looked down and saw how fast i was going and how little road I had left. I heard that the computer chip in the car get accustomed to how you drive during the first few thousand miles of a new car. How true is this and why would this matter much? I think I have about 6000 miles on mine so far.

Whatchamacallit (noun) - Etymology: Alteration of what you may call it. Or something whose name has been forgotten or is not known.
Or in my world, better defined as:
Sorry, back to the topic.

When the batteries are replaced, the car has to relearn your driving habits.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I love the TSX for the following features:
1. The superb handling! I love going round corners with it :-)
2. The interior design is clean, contemporary, luxurious and yet understated.
3. The exterior design is again clean and stylish, with a distinctively European flavor to it. I particularly love the chrome and black trim treatment around the windows, and the rear light arrangement. Did I say "ALFA ROMEO"?
4. The engine is silky smooth, powerful and yet fuel efficient!
5. The paint work is gorgeous! My only complaint - Acura should stop using the same paint names as Honda! LOL

Yes, this is true (not sure if TSX does this too but I would think so). Cars can "learn" your driving style. The ECU anticipates and adjusts to shifts at the right RPMs to suit your tendancies.

My future with my car lasts about 5 more years, at which time i decide to either sell it to my 13 yo cousin, who can't stop salivating over the car, or keep it and turn it into my autocross ride, and basically use it only to race.

1. Like Ostrich said, engine smoothness. I love coming out of a corner and feeling how smooth and quiet the engine is.
2. Interior, its one of the best and a pleasure to look at.
3. Exterior, See point # 2
4. Handling. It rolls more at low speeds but has lots of grip in higher speed curves. Its almost like it has a 2 stage suspension, which I love.
If this car had 25 more HP it would be perfect IMO.
