Why did you buy the TSX?
I was just wondering why you purchased the TSX? Did you get it becuase you couldn't afford the TL or did you like the modding options better or was it love at first sight? Just wondering because I cant seem get the payment I want for a TL so it would be a compromise.

I actually wanted the G35 Coupe but it was just way over my budget (under $30,000 otd). But then when the TSX came out, i fell in love with the interior. It's just absolutely gorgeous. and the exterior design was crisp and clean and i love the rear end styling. I weighed everything out and realized this is the car i want...a very practical yet stylish vehicle with everything i needed (leather, navi, ...) and almost everything (06 tsx...grrr!!!) i wanted at the best value money can buy.
The TSX has been on my number 1 pick for the past 2 years. i still want the G Coupe, but u cant beat the value u get from a TSX. I did consider the TL, but the TSX's design was a lot better inside and out than the TL imo. The TL's short overhangs in the rear and long in the front looks very awkward from the side. i'm happy i got the car I wanted.

You will get a whole slew of answers regarding this topic. The answer you will typically get the most is>>>here is the famous catch phrase (THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!!).
I was looking at both cars myself and while I didn't mind paying the 6-7K difference for the TL, the TSX gave me everything that I wanted and the 4cyl. I-VTEC engine provided more than enough performance. Going really fast is just not a priority for me nowadays. As a result, I was able to take the extra cash and put it toward some home remodeling and investments.

believe it or not i bought tsx cause
1) 50% i have been driving acura since my first car. owned 4 acuras.. so im used to what it does...
2) 50% cause of this honda/acura only mechanic i have been going to since i own my acura.. if i were to buy another brand, i wouldnt know who to trust.. so i got tsx (another acura) also due to this excellent mechanic.. also if you are anywhere near LA area.. its called Ultimate Automotive... excellent service, honest, and fast... owner name is Jeff 626 821 0267 in arcadia... their service is cheaper than dealer and they perform more service.

WHAT?!?!?!!?!?! You're still alive? I thought you got the TL or died or something...
I got my TSX because I wanted to have a more "mature" car but yet still have something reliable and fun to drive. I believe I made the right choice

I also looked at the TL. Test drove one before even looking at the TSX. My reason was affordability. But the TSX has proven to be a great car. The value is exceptional. I've fallen in love with the car since. Has great pickup and fuel economy. Sporty yet has luxury. Great automobile!!

Fun, 4 doors (for baby girl), reliable name, affordable. Actually, I was going to buy the new Legacy GT but the GT model hadn't arrived in dealerships when I unexpectedly sold my last car within 3 hours - kinda forced me to buy a new car. I don't regret it.

I didn't even consider the TL because it's too big for me and I think TSX looks better and classier. Here is a list of reasons why I bought the TSX:
1) Interior and exterior look
2) good bang for the buck equipmentwise
3) Not as common as a Camry or an Accord
4) Xenon head light
5) fold down seat
6) I am sucker of PWP
7) Honda reliability
8) Honda handling

Top rated sports sedan. The auto reviewers know what to look for in a car, I really don't. So my only decision was whether I was gonna like it in the showroom and during the test drive.

Much more fun than the TL with 90% of the same features, even more true with the '06 (dammit). Also, much greater modding potential (unless all the parts made from now on are '06+ parts...double dammit) It also left me with some more money in my pocket, money I don't wish I had spent to get a TL instead

It was the sportiest/fastest/best looking car I could get for under 30K and staying away from turbos because of those damned insurance companies keeping me away from my Evo/STi!!!

ratings rating ratings. I was looking at these type of cars for a long time. (Wasnt even interested in the TSX) Then after reading test drives from motor trend, car and driver, edmund, autoweek. etc etc etc.. I hadda test drive one. Went to a dealer, sat in the car. was sold, it was love at first site. This car is awesome. then you step outside of the car and look at the sticker, the price tag is about 6 thousand less than anyone would have guessed... (10 thousand if it said Bavarian Motor Works on the dealership) AND the rests history. But I will say the gas mileage had nothing to do with it. I dont pay for gas (Company gas card)

The voices, the voices!!!!!!!!
Actually partner had a 2002 Jetta which was about to go off warrenty and we were getting tired of trips to the dealer to fix things. So...
1. Front Wheel Drive
2. Reliabilty
3. Quality of workmanship
4. Dealer Reputation
5. Feel driving
6. Price.

I was in the market for a used BMW 3-series when I discovered the TSX a little over a year ago. The BMW's I drove all had over 40k miles and most needed some kind of work. My friend had just bought a TL and recommended me to check it out. I liked the TL but my friend already had one and I wanted something different. I then drove the TSX and realized it was actually cheaper brand new than some of the used 3-series I had test driven! With navi, touch screen, auto climate control, leather, etc it was much better equipped than any other car at the price. Though I still would like an E46 (it is the best looking car on the road IMO) the TSX was simply too much car to turn down and I still love it.

I was fully prepared to spend 35-40k on a vehicle, new or used. I saw the TSX at a car show in March 2004, liked the looks of it. Did not at that point like the TL particularly well, it has since grown on me. Still not fond of G35. 3-series too damn small. 5-series too damn expensive. Not a fan of turbo-ed cars (Volvos, Saabs out).
Long story short, I looked at the sticker and the HP decided that was plenty of squirt for the buck.
Then I drove it. The TL seemed like a luxobarge. At that point the combination and the dreaded BANG FOR THE BUCK, made it irresistible.

My decision had nothing to do with the TL. It was love at first site for me. I saw the car, walked in for a test drive. Waited till I could afford it, then bought it. And I am so happy I did!

Had a civic, had an ITR, wanted an RSX-S, but the wife said nay to two doors, so it was a natural step up. Honda reliability and resale have done me right in the past, so it was a comfortable step. I really considered the 4-door Accord but 160 HP was not enough. Spending what I did, I should have shopped around. Had I done that, I would likely be in a 6MT G35. Now my wife is OK with a 2-door, so I see a G in my future, or a used M3 with extended warranty

I buy TSX to take cabbages to village haul horse donkey to blacksmith for new shiny rims, to cause fear in minds of turnip-weevil and their cohorts who expect to establish domain over all sentient beings this day of our great kingdom inside verdant bags of starchy water paste from fancy household dwellers.
You may ask why is this so important to special agent of former Republic of Crimean investigations but I cannot tell you these things you must find them out for yourself.
Many in my village have TL and have not found happiness together with scents of aromatic floral displays and breathless speakings of eternal love. Ha, is to laughing at such insolence, my good friends. Drive Buick, suffer.

- Replacing an '03 Civic LX 2-door with 53k miles for my fiance, she always loved her Honda, so it made sense to look at Acuras.
- Wanted 4-doors, better handling & features
- Was looking for a used car along the lines of a IS300, Altima V6, A4, TL, etc.
- The local Acura dealer had a few clean '02-'03 TL's that we were looking at, but the TSX caught our eye and the debate was over.
- The offered the '05 TSX to us at invoice and had our desired color combination in-stock... it was hard to resist!

under 30K
every feature i wanted came standard
not too many on the road (especially in arctic blue pearl)
not as pretentious as other luxury cars
engine size
great handling
luxury
plus the my only other car was a 92 Vigor which I loved to drive
The tsx has almost the same size engine (2.4 vs the 2.5 inline 5 of the Vig)
and it's the "middle child" of the acura family. .. much like me

I started out looking at the TL, and wound up choosing the TSX instead. It was definitely NOT a case of "settling" for the TSX because of affordability. Reasons I prefer the TSX over the TL:
- TL is overpowered for a front-drive car. Too much torque steer.
- Clutch felt very weird in the TL.
- TSX gets better gas mileage.
- TSX is better bang for the buck.
