Who's almost at 50,000 miles and/or warranty expiring?

I'm just about at 48,500 miles on the 04 TSX and only 1500 more miles and no more warranty on this TSX. I'm not going to get an extended warranty though because for me I don't think it's worth it. Who else is almost at 50,000 miles?

After the warranty expires though am I correct that there isn't anymore roadside assistance?

I may keep this car for another 50,000 miles or not. I know that I've said numerous times that I wanted to get rid of the TSX due to lack of power, the drivers seat isn't comfortable, and because I love the G35, but gas prices are going up.

I like the gas mileage on this car and the other 2 Honda products I drove lasted 133,000 miles on an 88 Accord and 95,000 miles on a 99 Accord, so I think the TSX can last that long.

This is a great daily driver car and maybe in the future I'll add a G35 or EX35 along with the TSX and make the TSX a daily driver/beater car.

42k.....but I have the CPO warranty that extends the bumper to bumper 1 yr/12k miles and the drivetrain to 7 yrs but don't recall the mileage. We'll see how it goes years 5-6-7...maybe I'll keep it, maybe I won't. Just nervous about the A/C and HVAC lights going out again.

Your drivetrain warranty is good for 7/70K. the 4/50K is the all inclusive warranty (minus wera and tear items).

I'm at 47,500 and plan on keeping the car for a long time so my parents are going to get me the Extended Warranty for Christmas. I figure it's worth it in the long run for me but if you don't plan on keeping the car for a long time, I say don't waste the money...

I'm at 53k and I'm not worried about it at all, given my past experiences with Hondas. I'm taking the chance and not getting the extended warranty.

Does every 04 TSX come with a 7/70,000 mile powertrain standard?

I bought mine used at 52k, so I just figured it was out of warranty completely....

Because just this past summer, I had both the A/C and the HVAC lights go out with weeks of each other. Each of those repairs is around $2k out of warranty. Sorry, but I'm not paying $4k out of warranty to fix those things if they break again. Many people have had those problems occur more than once, so the chance of them breaking again is pretty high. I love the car, but those repairs are too much to shell out.

I had a great past experiences with Hondas as well. My old Accord had 120k+ miles with minor problems. Just for peace of mind I bought the 100K extended warranty on my TSX.

i'm at 41k. solid car! only problems were headlight condensation and now a creaky clutch. i'm afraid the creaky clutch issue will come back after they replace the master cylinder.

isn't the warranty refundable if it isn't used?

I've got 25K on my 2004. I just recently decided to buy the car off lease due to the low mileage.

I don't plan on having it past 50K--I have no desire to pay for repairs out of pocket.

I've got 85K on my TSX and haven't had any major problems. The only problems I've had was the drivers door lock actuator going out and the drivers heated seat switch light going out. Both were fixed under warranty. I've got the 100k bumper to bumper warranty, so I won't start worrying until after that. :-P

I have 49,800 on my '04. Incidentally, don't forget that earlier this year a class- action law suite extended our warranty mileage by 5%. That means the warranty now runs until 52,500 miles.
Have had no service costs other than oil changes / routine stuff. Only problems have all been repaired under warranty: water in the left headlight unit, several dash & instrument lights replaced (NOT the radio stack problem which A FEW people had, just individual switch lights), taillight wiring at the trunk hinge area, and vibration in the brakes.
I too am waiting to see the next version of the TSX before deciding on my long-term strategy for ownership.
I drove rotary-engined Mazda's for 29 years before buying this car. All three of my Mazda's were great sports cars, but a maintenance black-hole. I'm enjoying not spending about $500 every six months to keep my car on the road.

I also had the driver's door lock actuator go out... and now my passenger heated seat light is broken too, but I think Acura did that when they replace my cup holders (the cover to them would not close).

I've had my drivers door lock thing go out at around 30,000 miles fixed under warranty. Also I had the a/c condensor and clutch spring replaced under warranty last week. 2006 with almost 46,000 miles on her...

I have around 65K miles on my 04 TSX. I believe the TLC roadside assistance goes away at 50K miles. It's been a pretty solid car. Had a few minor common issues but nothing major. Like others, I've owned a few Honda Accords in the past and they held up pretty good, well over 100K miles. I have no doubt the TSX will do the same.

Mine went out around 12,000 miles on my 2005. Took my car through a carwash at Chevron, and the next day I couldn't unlock my driver side door remotely.

I only have 31K mi. on my 04. Have but 2 months remaining on my original 4yr/50Kmi. warranty. I'm seriously considering buying the extended warranty what with the A/C and display lights going out problems.

I have an '04 as well. I recently bought the Acuracare extended warranty for 4 more years or an additional 48K miles. Purchased online through Curry Acura (described in other threads). I can't even remember the price (was around $1300 I believe). I know I may never use it, but I'm sleeping better at night. The warranty is transferrable if the car is sold to an individual (not a dealer), so it will increase resale value as well. The security of a warranty, in light of the A/C, brake, radio/HVAC problems others have had, as well as the increase in resale value make it worthwhile in my mind. Just my 2 cents.

I don't remember the specific details at this late hour, but I have an "extended" warranty through GEICO Insurance. Its something like $50 a year and it will cover my car up until 100,000 miles. $250 deductible per incident.

if something did happen to your car would it be fixed at an Acura dealer or some Geico approved place?

How do I know that my warranty was extended to 52,500 miles? Is this on all 2004 TSX's?

You should've received info about the class action suit in the mail, but I believe it does apply to all '04 TSX's. It had to do with possibly inaccurate odometers, so Acura just granted the 5% warranty extension on the mileage.

Hi All,

I have 2005 TSX and it has 42000 miles on it.

I am wondering whether it is worth going for Acura Care Entended warranty..

It seems there is a promotion now for another 4 years/48000 miles for 1250/- with zero deductible..

I am planning to wait till it reaches 50000.. any thoughts !!

Thanks
Mars

I have an 05 and bought the 6 yr/100K mile extended when I bought the car new (4-05). It was around $1000 I think. I'm not a fan of extended warranties as a rule, but there are so many things that can go wrong with a car nowadays, you could get your $1000 back a number of times over. I planned on around 30K miles a year for 3 years, so I figured I'd actually see close to the covered mileage (I'm at 60K now). You may need to decide how long you're going to keep the car before you decide.

I have an 04 with 78k, and I am glad I got the extended warranty. I had my master cylinder replaced twice and the AC went out, all at no cost to me. The master cyclinder replacement would of costed me almost 300 dollars, and it would of costed me close to 2k to fix the AC.
