Who has the lightest TSX on AZ?
By sportscar standards, it's a known fact that the TSX is a FAT car for the limited HP it produces. Has anyone on AZ been able to reduce a significant amount of weight without compromising its luxury appeal? Maintaining the TSX's refinement AND reducing the weight seems to be a tall order since "gutting" the heck out of the car and dropping it into Civic-status would be plain foolish.
Off the top of my head, I could think of the following:
- Painted carbon fiber hood
- Lightweight wheels
- Removal of spare + use of run flat tires
- lightweight battery
Those items seem to add up to around 100 lbs. What are some other things we could do without removing sound deadening, seats, panels, etc?

the lighest I have had my car was when i installed my trunk shocks and took out my audio system to rewire it at the same time. I have the rear seats and my heavy ass sub install out which I never have a spare tire cause of it anymore. I also had a carbon fiber hood on at the same time. I have to say the trunk is really heavy when the are no springs for it so a carbon fiber trunk will save more weight than the hood will. the car was a lot quicker when I had all that stuff out of it.

The biggest weight saving I can do is NO ride to my mother-in-law! The ultimate weight saving planning is put myself in diet and trim out my personal spare tire....

Headers - these are typically much lighter aftermarket.
Exhaust
Strut Bar- Comptech's titanium is supposed to be lighter.
Lightweight tires (Toyos Proxes or Pirelli Pzero Neros)
You could also drive around with 1/2 a tank of gas or less.
Thats all I can think of.

Damn guys... this is a TSX
If the time it takes you to get down the 1320 is that important to you, this is obviously not the car for you...
I'm sure I'll get flammed, but that just my

HEY man, that Sentra was QUICK!
No flame, but while I agree that this isn't going to exactly turn the TSX into a supercar, it might be something to think about for those who are already planning to upgrade rims, etc. (Maybe if you want to go faster, don't get 18's, for instance.)
So, what $26k luxury sedan is the one to get me down the 1/4?
But yeah, I don't think I'd start gutting the soundproofing, etc. It probably is real heavy, but I like the quiet ride. I know on the Prelude, some people would remove the rear seats, but it's mostly foam, so it doesn't really buy you much. Some even removed the cruise control unit. After all, how often do you use it? Hardly at all, given the traffic on most highways. How hardcore do you want to be?

And run flat tires are horribly heavy compared to regular ones, you're better off forgoing them and just putting a tire patch kit in the trunk like BMW
