Whining, Squealing and hard to turn steering
Guys,
I have an Acura TSC 2004 with 75K miles on it. Over the pas year I have been noticing a little whining sound and progressively gets worse the more I drive. Especially at slow speeds when parking or turning the noise level seems to be high. I have had the acura technicians take a look at it twice when I took it in for oil change but they say there is no problem. Stumped on what to do ..also the steering feels tight...cant turn with one hand when in a paring slot.
Checked the the power steering fluid and took a picture of it after running the engine for a few min, attached. Also noticed that there is a wired noise when I turn the steering to either end.

Audio
I have attached a audio click that shows the sound when Turing the wheel in either direction.

This symptom is usually associated w/ power steering (PS) air leak on the fluid return side where pressure is subambient allowing air to be pulled in from a leak. Usual culprit is oring on the PS inlet fitting of PS pump.
If you see bubbles in the fluid returning to the reservoir, this problem is very likely.
Low fluid level from a leak can cause similar noise/symptoms.
good luck

thanks
Thank you for your response, I was thinking it was the O ring, I did have the power steering hose replaced during the recall about 4 years ago, could it be the O ring just went bad or they did not put the right one in. Will take it back to the dealer and hopefully I don't get screwed over.
