Where is my TSX ??

I don't know if anyone else has had to wait forever for a TSX.
I just got a call from the dealer today who says my car won't be delivered until mid July.
I originally met with the dealer at the end of March and he ordered it the beginning of May.

I am thinking of just waiting for the 2005 model since this is taking so long.

Any insight would be helpful.

Here is my Timeline:

3.15.04
Contacted Dealer about TSX

3.21.04
Got confirmed pricing information from dealer

3.30.04
Met with Dealer, got financing quote and quote on my trade in.
Dealer had a CG/Ebony on lot, said he would try to dealer trade for CG/Quartz
Said he would have it by mid April

4.15.04
Dealer trade fails - calls Local Acura Rep and said there is a
SSM being built that could be changed to CG.

5.07.04
Finally confirms No CG Available. Goes ahead and orders it.
Estimated delivery - 6/30

5.17.04
Calls back and says car is being built soon. Won't get me VIN until 6/30
Estimated Delivery 7/15

Re: Where is my TSX ??

Dealers in CA have a bunch of them in stock. Come by for a visit and drive away in a new TSX...

wow, i sure got away easy! i decided to shop around for car financing options on 4-19. immediately got pre-approved for financing that day, requested an internet quote that night.

check got to me for financing before i even had a chance to go to the dealership for a test drive. drove the tsx on 4-24. placed a deposit on 4-27, the car i wanted was already on it's way to atlanta from san diego (just came off the boat).

i took delivery 5-01...carbon gray/quartz/5at/non-nav

i LOVE it so worth the wait (not like i had to wait long, but it's a rockin car!!)

That Long???

Mine was built 5/06/04. I've been told possible delivery in first week of June. I hope my time estimate is better than your guys. Someone else on this board had delivery after build date in about 6 weeks, I think.

You guys are kidding me, I went in at noon and left by 3:00. i got a CG/Ebony. I originally wanted Quartz, but they didn't have in stock, and the Ebony was fine for me.

I could see waiting for a highly customized car with specific options, but there aren't even any options to speak of on the TSX.

The TSX must be wildly popular in CA.

Unfortunately, a 6spd is tough to get around here. I must have seen about 4 CGs at the dealership last time - all autos.

The 6 speed seemed to be the tough thing to find. Plenty of autos but no manuals in a three state area around Indiana.

I waited a few months myself, but I wouldn't compromise on the color. There's a lot of CG/Quartz out there now! You guys are finally realizing the brilliance of the combo.

You know SSM is superior ... come on Jason Oh wait, I just got SSM because I get lazy on washing my car sometimes

I have to admit I had CG/Quartz on order initially and then changed it.

I do think it is the 6MT that makes the combo above hard to find. My dealer had 3-4 on the lot last week when I went in for an oil change and they were all 5AT.

CG/Quartz is the most stylish anyway. You think having a 6MT with Nav in this combo will be good for resale?

Just found out from the dealer that the car was indeed built on 5/6/04 however the ship sheet shows a "pre" date of 5/11/04. What is this "pre" date? The dealer said that was either the date it arrived on the dock or the date the ship left carrying it. At least I have a VIN number now so it should really exist.

What's funny is, I bought my CG/6MT/Navi right off the lot...

When I went to the Acura dealer to buy the TSX, I told them I wanted pearl white and they asked me if I had another colour that I liked. They told me pearl white is hard to get here in Canada. I told them it has to be pearl white and I need the car within 7 days or else the deal is off. They phoned me the next day and they told me they had the car. Picked up the car 2 days after that. It only had 5 km on it! You guys are being way too nice to your dealers. I boss them around all the time. I think paying them in cash helped.

So if we don't get the VIN until the car is in the states, then is my car getting closer?

Called another local dealer and the don't know what the "pre" code means on the arrival sheet the dealer has. You'd think they might want to understand all the codes.

I'm in the same boat here in SoCal. I started my work with a dealer on March 25th for a PWP, 6MT with Navi. We agreed on $27,500 plus tax and the other bullshit. At that time there were only 3 in my combo in the whole state of California! My dealer said he trades with 2 of the 3, but then 1 was already sold and then the whole transmission hold issue came up and they could'nt do anything for about a week until American Honda told them what to do. By then he said we'd be be better off ordering from the factory. He expected to hear something last week as they were allocated the vehical. Turns out another dealer in the desert got the same car 2 months earlier than they expected (probably my car!) and my guy is trying to do a trade with them to get me my car. He said only 2 PWP, 6MT w/ Navi have arrived in Cali since March! Otherwise, it's more waiting........... Lucky for me I have a 2000 Integra GS-R sedan that's in great condition to drive in the mean time. I'm starting to get a little excited though about getting a TSX!!!

You know what's weird is I'm trying to get the same car PWP, 6MT with Navi. Your dealer should have a sheet showing the incoming cars with the VIN's. BUT, don't take mine!!

Never fear! I'm in southen California! My dealer has that sheet. He's even given me the names of the other dealers that have one or have one on the way. The only reason I'm continuing with the same dealer is because I have a long relationship with them and currently take my Integra there for service. I trust them! Plus it helps that I'm patient for the right car at the right price!

What kind of prices have you been quoted there in the mid west? I have $27,500, (in writing!) plus tax and the other bullshit fees. That's another reason I'm holding out. no other dealer in So Cal will even come close to that on a PWP, 6MT w/Navi!

The dealer I'm working with has quoted me $27,800 w/o tax and fees. Another dealer in town won't take less than $28,500 for the PWP 6MT w/Navi. I've had good luck with the dealer I'm working with in the past, so I guess I'll just wait.
