when is a good time to get a new car?
IT is all about timing and depends on the model of the car u get. when a car sells itself, and limited production, MFR will hardly use the incentatives to dealers, or and special financing rates to well qualified buyers. For the tsx, since it was released april 2003, american honda did not offer any of these stuff to consumers on tsx but offers to rsx due to slow sell, need to push them off the lot so they use 2.9 or 3.9 rates depends on timing.
kelly blue book based on all cars depreciation on January 1st of the model year.
for example: 2004 models are considered as one year old car in September-October 2004 blue book. so.... so if u buy the tsx or other cars in Sept to December 2004 as a 2004 model year, you might save some money.. but you still lose more than if you buy a 2005 model year and u still get the use of 05 in the full 05 year.
For example: Fall 2003, purchase a 2004 Acura TSX auto for 1000 over invoice.
Fall 2004, purchase a 2004 Acura TSX auto for approx 500 or close to
invoice, depends on timing
so.. in this case, u only saved 500 or 800 bucks but u waited a full year
and depreciation as a one year old car in the book is more than this difference
does it worth the wait???? hope u get the point.
you start your loan earlier and pay off earlier too...

the payment is only about 10 bucks x 60 months.. that is it.. for ten dollars or 12 dollars a month it does not worth to wait that long.. that is only one month pymt.. that is still 11 month ahead of the game with the same car

when the office clerk totals my existing car on I-95, claiming that he was chased by drug dealers in a blacked out Bimmer that "drove" him into the concrete abuttments near one of the exits. (I guess the car had vanity plates that said "drug dealer").

Or what if they don't have any more 2004s on the lot by then?
That scares me.
Also, I think that "one perfect day" vito is referring to is the 30th of every month, if I remember that lengthy Sauceman's post correctly.

Typically end of month I've read is the best time, but for getting the best price, in addition to the time of month is to get quotes from as many dealers as possible, since every dealer's sales volume/incentive for sales situation is different, and you never know when you can get a good deal. Check out www.fightingchance.com. Good package they sell for new-car buying tips.
