Wheel well undercoatng or tar?
My TSX has about 1200 miles on it. I was driving through a neighborhood today and had to cross a small section of road that was being paved (~ 20 yds). I drove very slow as to not get any tar/asphalt on my car, but I could still hear some splattering in the wheel wells. Once I got home, I checked out the car. No tar on any of the exterior. However, the wheel well (especially the front wheels) have a gooey tar like substance in them - pretty thick in some areas. Also have a little on the front shocks. Is this tar? Or is this a wheel well undercoating?
If it is tar, is there anything I need to do about it?

I've done some more searches on the web and in this forum, and it looks like this is a coating that serves 2 purposes - anti-corrosion and sound proofing.
