what's with the "Touch of Class" service Acura dealers offer?
sup, I'm picking up my new TSX tomorrow at noon, and the dealer asked me if I would like the "touch of class" paint and interior service. It's like freaking $545!!! Has anyone got this service and know if it's worth it, hell I can wash my car and clean it for al lot cheaper. Dealers said something about not having to wax the car for the next 5 years...yeah right.

It's too bad dealers try to rip you off like that. It's one of the main reasons I got out.
To the fair dealers defense... They are not all like that.

What you probably dont know.
Touch of Class is a paint and fabric sealant warranty program.
At our dealership we sell it for $399 and it covers damage on the paint and interior fabric, leather, and vinyl. I'm not going to get into all the details of what the warranty covers.
Here's an example if for some odd reason your car gets crapped on by birds (which if not cleaned immediately will do unrepairable damage to paint) or tree sap or hard water etching (i.e water sprinklers) it will pay for the painting of all damaged surfaces.
That doe'nt seem like a bad deal $399 vs $2000+(for a full paint job) . Also lets say you spilled your coffee on your carpeting and can't get it out they will come out to your house and remove the stain for you. If they can't remove it, they replace the damaged item.
As long as you are getting a written warranty with the application of the product it's really not a bad deal and if you're considering a dark car I would definetly purchase it.
Touch of Class has payed for several claims that I know of.
The Acura paint only has a warranty against defects in material or workmanship and it won't honor bird crap damage.

So what you're saying is it's basically something like Zaino, Meguiar's, or some other polymer-based paint sealant, Scotchgard, and 303 leather/vinyl protectant with a warranty, right?
My guess is that the cost of the "service" is 40% labor to apply the products, 10% (or less) cost of the sealant product actually used, and 50% for the "insurance".

Here I found this
http://www.prodealerservice.com/products/class3.html
this may help.
Guaranteed there is a big markup but that the same with any accesory or warranty, You are really purchasing the warranty.
I'm not for it or against it I just wanted to tell you what I knew about.
