Talking What's hot about the TSX?

I have been noticing that everyone who has one is super hyped over it. Whether it's mods or wheels or kits, etc...

I am just curious about this and I welcome everyone on this board to chime in. I really want to know, and please, feel free to offer comparisons to other vehicles including the TL's.

Thanks

drive it and wind the tach up to 7300, you'll hear it.
take it on the twisties and you will feel it in your finger tips.
look at it (when it's clean), and you'll see it.

A good poem though...very true.....

May not be the fastest car out there, but every single time I've gotten into it since I bought it in the summer of '03...I've loved every minute of it.

There's just something about it that is so much fun

Yep, love it more now than the day I bought it. It's the intangibles that make the TSX so much fun: the terrific chassis balance, great turn in and overall steering feel, the slick-shifting gearbox, all housed in a great-looking body along with a sublime, comfortable interior.

It's the package that makes the TSX. Everything works very well together.

Hum!

I bought my 3-series in good part because the lease was cheaper, but coming from Honda world I would have been happy with a TSX. Balance. The hottest mod I would have done would be an Hondata update (which it NEEDS). About all cosmetic mods I have seen so far including rear wings improve... nothing.

Others have said essentially the same thing, but it is an exceptionally well-balanced car in every respect. Balanced in terms of chassis dynamics, power vs. fuel economy, ride/handling, size, etc. And, IMO, my '06 TSX is much better put together than the '05 TL I traded in. No dash fade, fewer rattles, much better handling, paint quality is in a totally different league, no prematurely aging leather, etc.

What exactly is dash fade?

A few people I know had asked, "Why didn't you get the TL?" But I let them take a drive and they're like "Wow, that's the smoothest shifting I'd ever experienced. The car fits you like a glove. It's very ergonomic, handles very nicely." And then they retract the comment about me not getting a TL =P

Don't forget the excellent MPG that you get with this car.....
Everyday driving 27 - 32 mpg almost match to the civic
Aggressive / fun driving 21 - 26 mpg damn close to the V6 accords

If you search dash fade on the TL forums you will find thousands of posts. It is a problem with the 3G TLs where the front dash, and especially on the passenger-side, fades (a charcoal gray color with a matte finish) and develops a white haze. Apparently the problem has to do with the "compatabilizer" Honda uses when assembling the TL dash which reacts with the dash plastic. Some have had success using Meguiar's NXT Interior Tech Protect or Aerospace 303 to minimize or eliminate the "dash fade"; others have not had any success. IIRC Honda issues a TSB last year, but a friend who just purchased an '06 TL is having the exact same problem so Honda hasn't completely fixed it yet.

There is an issue where the black dash plastic is noticeably less black and less shiny than the black plastic on the front doors, but that shouldn't be confused with "dash fade". It seems to be "normal" and whether you find it acceptable is up to you.

Whether slow or fast,
the TSX is a blast.
A hot ticket with chicks,
you probably won't smoke any pricks.
With a 6 disc changer the tunes will flow,
pics of stock ride height are sure to get "drop it low".
The HID's sure are bright,
oncoming cars scream "WTF is up with that light?"
In silver, red, black or blue,
the TSX is sure to please you.
Go drive one today and feel the excitement,
be sure to call ahead as most dealers don't have a big assortment.
I love mine to death and I'm sure you will too,
with the pedal to the floor you'll yell "WOO-HOO!"

A quick rhyme brought to you by Knox

Its just a blast to drive. And with a few suspension mods and engine mods it makes a great car even better.
