I'm about ready to get my first oil change and wanted to get a good idea for what people are pay for synthetic oil change service? When I was at the dealership last week to get a fog light replaced, the going rate was $72.

I buy my own synthetic oil.

from what I read, Mobil 1 is not pure synthetic anymore,
so I only use Royal Purple now.

the oil costs me about $50 and Acura charges me $20 for the change + filter.

so about $70.

I used to use Mobile 1, but now I use Castrol because engine feels alot smoother than Mobile 1 imo.

5 qts of oil = $22
OEM filter = $ 6
DIY = Free

I am using Pennzoil synthetic. Can you go back to regular oil from synthetic? Is it bad for the engine? People that use synthetic, do you change it when the meter runs to 0 percent or do you run it to 5,000 miles? Thanks for your response.

i bought mobil 1 w/ a fram extended drain interval filter for $31... went to a honduh dealer and had em put it in for $13... $48 for synthetic change

I buy whatever is on sale, and change the oil myself.

So... one time it was $10. Another time it was $19. etc.

did you use castrol syntec? howz the engine feeling now? i've been debating about trying catrol syntec out. i currently am using mobil 1.

and you guys on the mainland sure are getting engine oil for cheap! 5 quarts around here costs $35 even at walmart! oem filter is $11!
