What mileage did your MPG improve?
Approaching 9K miles and MPG's seem to be improving. I remember reading a review of the TSX on "Temple of VTEC and they indicated the TSX motors were very tight and took quite a while to break in, somewhere around the 10K and you will notice better MPG's etc. Anyone else experience this?

well I only have 5K miles so far.
and so far nothing has changed.
I get 26/35 right now city/highway and am not really expecting more.
but if it improves in another 5k miles, then I'll take it for sure.
p.s. going by the MID is not the best calculation at all.
best to figure it yourself on paper.

Oliver!!!
Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm right at 11k now and I'm just starting to see it creep upwards. But to be fair, the weather's been nice for the last few weeks so I'm not using the a/c as much. I like to ride with the sunroof open and windows closed if possible.

yup.
and on my Inifiniti G35s I get 22/29 right now.
same amount of miles.
I think my driving style has alot to do with it.
I drive behind people some time, and I watch them touching their
brake pedal all the time, and I think that must be killing their mileage.
If you focus on the way you drive you can really improve mileage.
I do not drive slow. I do not drive "defensively." I think I drive "smart."
I've been practicing getting my mileage maxed out for years.

for EVER more!
mine has gone down from 32 HWY to 27/28 HWY. I think that's because of the increased rolling resistance of my Eagle F1 A/S tires. The grip comes with a price??
I have 41K mi on the ODO. However, i did go from 28 to 32 during break in.

The way you described it MMsTSX that's what I would describe the way I drive. I never tailgate or get really close to people and require the need to hit my brakes. You get better gas mileage on your 300hp car than my tsx :/.

lol.
here's a few tips from some website:
Here are tips anyone can use:
1. As soon as a red light or stop sign comes into view, take your foot off the gas and coast.
2. When you restart, take it easy on the gas pedal. "No jackrabbit starts," as they said in the '70s.
3. On the highway, use cruise control. The more constant your speed, the better mileage you'll get. And don't speed.
4. If your newer car has a mileage gauge, use it. Look at it often. You'll find that knowing your fuel efficiency moment by moment becomes a challenge you can't refuse.
5. Keep tires properly inflated. If you're feeling a bit daring, and your tires are new or in excellent shape, push the psi past the rating a little.
6. Park at the highest point in the parking lot and coast as long as you can when you leave.
7. Lose the weight -- yours and your car's. Every pound counts when you're trying to ease the burden on your engine, so get rid of the tent and sleeping bags in the trunk from last weekend's mini vacation, or the box of files and paperwork that you never get around to lugging inside, or the unholy loads of garbage in the unused back seat.
some things I think about:
-air filter is key. having a K&N that's slightly dirty is your best OEM option.
-air pressure is key. On my 18's, 225/40/18, I use 37 front and 38 back psi.
-weight is key. Keep the car empty, nothing banging around or tossing around
in the car or weighing it down. If I have to limit my cornering speed because
of crap in my car flying around, I'm losing a bunch of mpg's.
-speed is key. on the interstate, try to maintain 70 mph. seems to be the
speed that our mileage is best at. 55 is not the best by a longshot.
and use cruise control whenever possible.
-flow of traffic. this is very hard for most to grasp, but it helps alot. I don't
stop behind people that want to turn, I drive around them. when turning
myself, I pull off the road (to the "break down" lane) way ahead of my turn,
so that I don't impede the traffic, and I can slow down at my own pace, with
little to no braking at all. I tend to run stop signs and do about whatever
is needed to keep the car moving and to not have to press the brakes.
it takes practice and a ridiculous attention to detail to max out your mpg.
if I didn't actually see real world results, I would have given up long ago.
But this sort of planning and driving actually saves me and my wife tons of
money, so we take the time to try to get better and better at it.

well, anything besides a dead stop is running a stop sign.
I'm just more literal about it than you are.
stop signs do get the "rolling stop" treatment, just like red lights on right turns.
keeping the car in motion, if only by a bit, is the intent.
not the kind of driving that's for everyone, surely not.
and not "recommended" either.

270... holy crap you must drive like you stole the damn thing.
Alright I'm guessing I need to drop some weight. And I'm running stock tires still and they are around 34psi.
