What DON'T You Like About the TSX?

OK, here is a good place to complain about the TSX. I decided to start the thread because there are a few things I really do NOT like about the car. Just call me a "glass half empty" guy.

Here they are:

1. The car is too damn noisy on asphalt, and especially at speeds in excess of 40 mph.

2. The switches for the "bun warmers" are poorly located, hard to see, too easy to turn on by accident, and I can already envision myself dripping coffee on them.

3. A secret place for storing cash and other stuff is needed. It's best to hide money. (PS -- I did find a place for hiding a few bills.)

4. The fastest, variable windshield wiper setting is the same as the slow windshield wiper setting.

That's it.

Otherwise, I am deleriously happy with my TSX.

I don't own one, but I have test diven a few.

My only complaint would be power, but other variables make me still want one.

Mehhh. Power is adequate for me... it's not a rocket ship but it surely isn't a slouch.

Complaints....

1.) Windows fog up very easily... gets annoying during the winter months

2.) The stock tires aren't my favorite. For all season tires, they are 'alright,' ceertainly better than the EL42's on my Dad's TL

3.) Sometimes, I find the leather to feel cheap. When I sit in my friend's Audi, it feels better than the leather in my TSX

I REALLY had to sit here and think of these meager complaints. Overall, the car is perfect for me. I think I could think of more for my Dad's TL

How is the TSX noisy? All the magazine tests report interior noise levels of 63 to 65dba @60mph and 67 to 69 dba@70mph...The two I drove were damn near being a vault. Both quieter than the two IS300's I drove a few mins later. I drove on asphalt and on concrete and on Oklahoma roads

Im pretty satisfied with the car, but i still have a few complaints...

1) I agree that the placement of the heated seats button isn't its best and it should be up more ( something like on the bmws)

2) I would like the moonroof button to be both in the center upper counsel where the homelink is and also on the drivers side for easy acess for both driver and passenger.

3) There should be acess lights both passenger and drivers side on top of the feet (shining down on the pedal/brake)

4) I would like a little bit more power..a better 0-60 time

Its more of little things that i wish would change than one big thing. I still lovee the tsx and am happy with my choice

I dont even have one yet, but I do have some racing experience and based on the dyno graphs I've seen it looks good. I was pretty iffy on it but I've done shitloads of reading the last few weeks and ran into some great info. It looks to be legit and the power increase from 4000rpm onward is impressive. Peak numbers dont go up but the area under the power curve is improved a lot. I've read that people are knocking .4 to .5 off quarter mile times with the Hondata...thats damn impressive if you ask me.

Of course you always wonder about quarter mile claims on the net, however, given the increased fuel cutoff and the increased power I could see it being legit. I still question revving beyond 7300rpm on a regular basis simply because I dont know enough about the valvetrain in the cars yet to know how its affected. The bottom end appears to be good to 8k+ though. I'd suspect some valve float at 7500+ but htats probably why its limited to 7600. You can run to 7600 in first gear to help keep you on the high cam, then on the 2-3 and 3-4 I think you can shift at 7300 and remain on the high cam.

I agree with a lot of what you guys have said so far:

1. Button placement could be better (moonroof especially).
2. Side mirror DEF button should turn off automatically.
3. Windows fog easily.
4. Windows freeze and get stuck easily.
5. Can't open truck with keyfob from inside car.
6. Can't lock doors with keyfob if door is open.
7. Tires should be better.
8. Speakers are weak.
9. Faster wiper speed would be nice.

Overall I love the car.

i think that's to prevent people from locking their keys inside the car by accident ...

I wish the Nav didn't absorb so many controls. I actually think that it would be smarter to drop the dual a/c control (which isn't all that useful) an have hard buttons for fan speed and HVAC mode. Likewise, I don't see why they can't have a row of preset buttons under the slot for the CD.

I think mine is too noisy also. More specifically, its the tires. I hate them.

Thats so weird, the two I drove were quiet, VERY quiet. Even at 95mph the one with 54k miles on it was as quiet as the new one I drove and quieter than the IS300. I would imagine that does have a lot to do with worn tires. Maybe I'm wrong though? I hope not cause I want a quiet car for my next car

For me it's all the compliments.

Everyday it is the same thing:
- Wow that's a great loooking car;
- I really like the colour, what do you call it;
- Boy does that ever look sporty
- That's a really luxurious looking car
- An Acura, Wow

Sometimes I just get weary of all of the compliments. I guess it is just one of the crosses that you have to bear as a RBP TSX owner.

No real complaints

I test drove one just after driving a TL.

To me, the only thing I noticed was that it was a little smaller.

And the sunroof button was in a strange place.

But that was it. Overall I was impressed.

but I bought the TL.

I have never seen the purple, just fantastic blue. (no purple in my many pics)

I guess when you have the number one colour you have to be able to take a few shots.

1. the steering wheel is not thick enough for a sporty car.

2. I agree with the road noise compaint. It can seem a little louder in the cabin than it should...at least on the freeway.

3. the backseat doors: they are too easy to close, and passengers tend to "overslam" them unintentionally. (the front doors are perfect at least).

4. The manual door lock mechanisms: why put them there? Ive found it too easy to bump my elbow on it when reaching out to pay a parking attendent or use the driveup ATM. They would be better off on the door handle assembly.

5. the drive by wire throttle response can be herky jerky with anything less than completely smooth throttle inputs. (almost like a manual transmission car.)

6. the brakes are EXTREMELY touchy when cold. I'm not sure what pad compounds they use, but ive never felt brakes as touchy as these when first setting out in the morning.

Interestingly, I dont have any real complaints about the powertrain or handling to speak of. The engine power is good enough stock and is able to be addressed with software if you want more of it. Many would complain the ride is too stiff but this is a non-problem...sport sedans are supposed to be sharp handlers.

2. You can't click and hold to bring down moonroof
3. You can't click and hold lock to bring all windows up

Nobody's mentioned the 2006 wheels? =P

Some minor annoyances:

You can use the fob to roll all windows up but it won't do the moonroof too.
Moonroof isn't one-touch.
Stock tires with no factory option
Stock brakes with no factory option
Lack of LED tails even though the Accord has it
Recorded voice for handsfreelink should be same quality as one for Navi
DBW makes it jerky
Rattles don't belong in a Honda, period

It's a wierd thing with Japanese cars. You need to have the "A/C" on while yuo're running the heat. Also turning recirculate "off" helps with the fogging too. Do those two things, and it'll fog up much less.

NO?? I don't think so. your A/C should not be on when heat is running! unless you do Auto mode!!~ I just think all hondas have bad fogging problem. I also noticed on my brothers accord!~

The brakes I could see being a weak link, however, better pads greatly increase stopping power...

You guys complaining about road noise what are you comparing the TSX to?
