Wet sanded part of my car....Big pics inside (56k beware)
So my buddy and I have always wanted to try wet sanding. I decided to try it on a piece of my front bumper where the orange peel is pretty noticable. Used 3M 2000 grit sand paper, Meguiars paint cleaner, 3M Finishing compound/glaze, and then Meguiars NXT wax. We applied the paint cleaner and finishing compound with a high speed rotory buffer with a 3M foam pad....here are the before and after

Yes my painted. They are actually polished and painted. They are polished on the face and the lip and then color matched in the pockets. I'll post up some pics soon. I have to clean up the car and wheels and put some new center caps in.

you do realize that you just removed the clearcoat in that area. it's not like honda layed on their paint thick. you typically wet sand a car after you paint it.... and you paint it knowing that you are going to wet sand it... so you add a few more coats to the paint process.

why would you wet sand your car?
that's what shops do when they first paint the car to get rid of all the imperfections and orange peel.
the only thing similar to what you are doin is to clay your car. not wet sand it.
am i missing something here?

All you did was strip your clearcoat, who knows how much though...

it looks wavy and bumpy, similar to the surface of an orange.

Orange peel is usually a result of improper mixture of paint or incorrect air pressure during painting. Some do wet sand the new paint for a better finish but I believe it's done prior to applying the clear coat. If you wet sand after the clear coat, then...
