WeatherTech Window Visors

For the other 50% of TSX owners who don't want to get the Mugen visors because we actually like the silver trim along our USDM windows, I present the WeatherTech visors. I was trying to find pictures before making the purchase, but most, if not all, were dead links in the posts I was able to find. Sorry for the poor pictures...I'll try to take some better ones in the future.

wow..nice ride. THe visors don't even look like they're there!

CL9projektz 05-12-2007 10:54 PM

wow finally someone with weathertechs that posted pics! looking good man.

ive been thinking about about picking up a set for my car but never did cause of a few questions i had. maybe you can answer them? i know that weathertech advertises no glue/adhesives for installation, but i know that for some cars they do include tape for the installation (esp for the rear windows on 4drs), is this the case with the tsx? how do the visors affect how your windows close? a few of my friends have weathertechs on their cars and the windows dont close as well anymore, and in fact its messing up their tint. any insight you have would be great. thanks man.

ruffellprefley 05-12-2007 11:40 PM

maybe a couple pics with windows down please?

The rear windows have double-sided tape. The fronts do not have any adhesive. The instructions state to roll the windows up and down 5-6 times, and then keep the windows closed for 12 hours. During the up & down portion of the install, the windows did go up slower. The fronts are a tight fit (no adhesive), and the window went up at a slightly different angle from stock. I seated the windows in the correct position, and will test them again tomorrow afternoon. I'll comment more on these visors after I've had a chance to live with them for a while.

Per my last reply, you are supposed to let the windows sit closed for 12 hours after installation. I'll post more pictures later. The visors have a light tint, but look much darker against my tinted windows.

Wow :what: Nice ride. You got everything! Thanks for the info, BTW. I'll definitly choose this one over Mugen.

CrazyCool[O] 05-14-2007 05:13 AM

Here is the direct link. These should be the same for all model years:

WeatherTech

I purchased the light tint visors.

jwood_06TSX 05-14-2007 08:08 AM

humm....i wonder if these would stop my water from getting inside my window and getting my felt/moleskin all wet? The water seems to collect and get the felt wet at the front of the window and move back......any ideas if this would stop that? Sorry, never had window visors before, so i don't know how they make the water flow.....

ZhenyaF 05-14-2007 08:37 AM

I have these and they're a great product. The only problem that I have with them is that after one year of them on my car, they have loosened up a little and when the windows are down, I can wiggle them with my hands. (not greatly, but just enough to notice)

xjohnkdoex 05-14-2007 09:31 AM

i've been pondering if i should get window visors for my car as well.

other than weathertech, mugen, and the OEMs, are there any other brands out there? how would you rank them as far as quality?

That is one of the primary purposes of the visors. It allows you crack your windows open while it is raining, while keeping the water out.

xjohnkdoex 05-14-2007 10:32 AM

not to go too off topic, but what's the tint % on your car?

haha....yes, i did know that! I have been having a problem with my tint that even when my windows stay closed, somehow water gets inside the car and the felt absorbs it. The felt ends up getting soaking wet and leaves water streaks on the inside of the window if i put the window within 2 days of it raining hard. I'm just wondering if these will maybe prevent the water from getting inside my car when they are closed??

kyotousa 05-14-2007 11:56 AM

what wheel do you have?
looks like Mugen Mirror...hot hot

EuRTSX 05-14-2007 01:43 PM

Im thinking of getting these and giving away my mugen visors lol.

xjohnkdoex 05-14-2007 01:53 PM

how do the front visors lock in?

that install video weathertech has on their site is ridiculous. the lady's is taking the visor off and putting it back on with ease.

and it's funny how the back visors are held by tape, but they show no install of that.

I don't think this visor will help. Water should not be coming in if the doors are closed. Double check your weather-stripping, or bring it into the dealer.

Yes...Mugen NR, Mirror Finish!

They are held in by the weather-stripping and friction. It is a pretty snug fit. The rears are also held in by friction, but I think the tape is extra measure. Overall install should take no more than 5-10 minutes.

xjohnkdoex 05-14-2007 03:15 PM

i think i'm going to eventually get these. thanks for the info!

whitson01 05-15-2007 12:16 PM

*off topic* sorry, noob here.
but what front lip is that? car looks *borats voice* "very nice"

EuRTSX 05-15-2007 12:17 PM

It's the OEM A-Spec front lip.

whitson01 05-15-2007 12:24 PM

really? i dont remember seeing the extra piece above and around the fog lights on other oem a-spec lip kits..?? does it depend on what year kit you get?

EuRTSX 05-15-2007 12:51 PM

This is for the 2006-2007 Kit.

whitson01 05-15-2007 02:40 PM

Pictures from Acura may show an image of that piece painted. I have yet to see one that came painted that way on anyone's car.

Rocket_man 05-18-2007 01:14 AM

I've had these on my 06 for several months now. Yes the rear visors have tape to keep them "up" when the window comes down, but the visor still goes inside the window track. There is no other way around the tape for the back wndows. The front just holds itself in place because it is such a tight fit, and the front end rests on the window chrome trim. There is a small clear plastic cushion that is supposed to keep the chrome undamaged but this piece looses it's adhesion and can get blown off. Not a big deal, I don't think it does anything.

On the front windows, the visor tends to push the window out of alignment until the visor/window sets over time. I used my hand to guide the window all the way up making sure it did not 'shift' on me. Then let them form a set over a period of a few days. 12 hours isn't quite long enough I don't think. Once they are set I think the window tends to work the way it should. I have noticed that with the visor in there it is a very tight fit for the window and it makes a sliding noise. I'm not sure it is good for the window or not but so far no damage.

The best part is being able to crack all four windows and allow a cool breeze to blow through the car. Here is south Texas it can get hot as hell in your car. With my tints and the windows cracked I can keep it fairly cool. This is better for the leather too. It can also rain like a SOB and no rain comes in with the windows cracked. I've had these on my GF 06 civic coupe and they work well there too.

Rocket_man 05-18-2007 01:27 AM

I guess I shoul clarify that I don't drive with the windows down, just park it with the windows ddown to help keep it cool. I use the A/C when driving. I also don't notice any increase in wind noise.

@etarui,

Did you remove the "weathertech" sticker from the front visors? if so, how did you do it?

Good Eye! I used window cleaner, and good old elbow grease. Spray the logo from the underside, scrape the now-wet sticker off with your nail/micro-fiber towel, and enjoy.

Thanks, I think it looks cleaner w/o the sticker

sorry to off off topic...but i like the '06 a-spec kit you have here. anyone know where i can get an RBP kit for less than the dealer?

kennungesser 06-06-2007 05:51 PM

Here's mine. I had a problem with the drivers side rattling alittle also. Called Weathertech, and they had me take out the drivers side. Sure enough it was chipped where it sits in the channel. They sent me out a replacement the next day. Not just the drivers side, but passenger side also!!
