How long did you guys have to wait to get info on your TSX like your delivery date, VIN.

I ordered my TSX (navi + 6speed manual) over 2 weeks ago and it took the dealership a week and a half to tell me my first choice of colour (white) is all sold out in the country. But they do have my other choice (Metallic Grey aka Concept Grey). They said it is being shipped from another dealership about an hour's drive away. One week later, I still dont have any info on my car aside from the colour. I dont know the delivery date, I dont know the VIN so i can start setting up my insurance.

My friend bought a civic and he was able to get the VIN before the car was shipped to the dealer. When I called the Acura dealership they said they dont know the VIN becacuse all the documents are shipped with the car.

Is this a common tactic when there is no car to take me off the market and try to get me on to the 07 model with rediculously high interest rates?

my tsx was shipped from another dealership too and they took 3 weeks to get here. The VIN was given before the car was shipped to the dealer. i think your dealer may not find the car for you or something. ask them to give you the delivery date, if they didn;t get it that date then ask for refund the deposit. or pm " no more si". he had worst situation but finally he got what he was looking for.

It took about a week and a half from the time I put the deposit on the car until the time I actually got the car. It took a little over a week for them to get the VIN to me (2 days before I got the car). I ordered a carbon gray/quartz, and since this is a popular color combination, they probably had an easier job finding it than other color combos. Even still, they had to look all the way to New Hampshire (I live in CT) to find the car, so it must not have been too easy to find.

I waited 3.5 weeks to get my car. the only one they said they were able to find was on a boat coming from japan. then it had to go to it's original dealership. Once it got there, my dealership had to go get it (12 hours away).

they did have the VIN before the car arrived so that I could fill out the paper work to get the 2.9% financing.

You guys got your VIN so there is a car behind the deal. What worries me is that they dont have a VIN for me. They say its being shipped from another dealer but they dont know the VIN. How can they be sure that the car arriving is the same car that was shipped. I'm just gonna have to keep bugging them for the VIN.

They said the last shipment they had is the last 06 to canada. I dont wanna be pushed to the 07 models where the interest rates are redicously high at around 8%
