Vehicle loaner and maintenance question

A dealer just told me that if I do not purchase from their dealership, then I will not receive discounts on maintenance and will not receive a loaner vehicle if needed.

Huh?

My local dealer offers a loaner with any car that is serviced. It shouldnt have to do with where you bought your car it is the fact that you are paying an arm and a leg to get it fixed at a dealership!

they are probably just saying that so you purchase it from them, not always the most honest people.

well, they told me that as long as it is under warantee then yes, but if it's not then no.

I called acura customer service and they said that the acura dealerships are independently owned so I guess the dealer is right. I'm going to call two more dealers and see how many different responses I get.

I called several dealers in the area and most of them said:

The questions asked were:
Would I be able to receive discounts on maintenance if I did not purchase your vehicle there?

Would I be able to receive a loaner vehicle (in and out of warrantee)when I bring my vehicle in for maintenance? *I reiterated that the vehicle was not purchased there.

Answers were:

Maintainence - discounts are available as offered regardless where the vehicle was purchased (100%)

Loaner - customers come first for services under 4 hours, however, if the service is longer than 4 hours yes. (75%)

One of the four dealerships (not including the ones I'm working with) stated that I wouldn't be eligible for a loaner at all, but maintenance + discounts is definitely a go. I spoke with both sales and service reps.
