Vancouver, Canada, eh!
Just got back from a week long school music-department function--in Canada, EH! We stayed in Vancouver and Victoria primarily and toured all the local sights.
Anyway--how does this relate to the TSX or Acura? For starters, I noticed TONS of ELs all over the place. Interesting little car and is good looking. I'm glad that they don't sell the car in the states though since it looks WAY too much like a Civic and wouldn't do too well for Acura's image. Anyone on here have any experience w/ the EL? Is it more than just a glorified Civic? I know that looks can be decieving sometimes, but it seems to me that it would be hard to justify buying the EL over a Civic.
As for the TSX...saw a few. Noticed a Silver TSX (w/ fogs) parked near Metrotown Metropolis in Burnaby which soon pulled away later. Was it anyone on here? I ate at the Thai Restuarant that's on the corner of the parking garage for Metrotown (by the Hilton) and that's where I saw the TSX. Reveal yourself!

I don't think any of us are in much of a posting mood right now because as of a few hours ago we're not in the Playoffs anymore.
Anyway, regarding the EL. I used to think it was the stupidest car ever (yes, I said stupidest) but it actually makes quite a bit of sense. In Canada we used to not have the Civic EX with the 127 horsepower VTEC engine (no ABS either if I remember). But the Acura EL had an Acura badge, the 127 hp engine, AND a bunch of mini-luxury car features (leather, "wood", etc) for the same price as a Civic EX would be.
It's cheaper than you think, a 2004 EL only costs about $22,000 CDN which is $12,000 lower than the TSX. It barely costs a grand or so more than the top Civic.
I personally don't like the looks of the EL, but it's a nice small efficient mini luxury car which I think we should have more of in North America. In Europe and in Asia there are tons of what we would consider small cars with luxo features like NAV and leather and nice interiors, and that's all most people need anyway. Driving around down doesn't exactly require a 0-60 time of 4 seconds does it?
As for TSX's in this town? You weren't looking hard enough (or were in the wrong areas to spot them). They are too popular around here. I see at least half a dozen a day, just during my short commute. Kind of annoying, but also kind of cool--proves that there are some rational people left here (that said however, the popularity of the C240 MB kind of balances it out ).

Wow, u were just 5 mins away from my place. I pass by Metrotown every night. :p
When I was first in the market for a new car, I actually almost got an EL myself since it's pretty reasonable priced compared to Civic.
For $2K more, you got leather and Vtec and ABS. I got a Mazda6 once I compared the handling and sizes. I then go for TSX after my Mazda6 was total lost by my wife. Yes, there are tons of TSX in Vancouver, you are not looking hard enough.

Vancouver is my favorite place to visit.
One of the reasons is that it's BRITISH Columbia, which (due to lack of Francais) disposes of the "eh." They also know how to pronounce "o"s.

I haven't been to Vancouver before. I always goto Toronto, since my relatives live there. Hopefully, one day I can move to Canada.
