Urgent question about paint job?
Hello,
I am new to this forum and am currently in the process of buying an Acura TSX 05. The car I am currently looking at is a manual one (acura certified) that I am very interested in. However, the car has been keyed on one side completely along the entire length of the car. I can try to get the car at a lower price or get a paint job done to take care of it. This vehicle is at an acura certified dealership and they said that they can do a really good paint job compared to places outside. So my specific questions are:
1. Since the paint job is for one side of the car to take care of the scratch, how different would it look compared to the original paint on the rest of the car? Do the dealers do a good paint job or would it look too diffferent? Also, with time will the different paints weather/age/fade differently?
2 Will this paint job affect its resale value later on?
I would really appreciate your inputs on these questions as soon as you can as I would need to make a decision soon on the car.
Many Thanks!

To be honest - dealers don't tend to employ the best painters, those guys are already in business themselves.
See what you can knock them down to on the price "as is", and do some asking around local bodyshops as to what they would charge to fix the problem, although be prepared for it to be a very rough guess rather than a quote since they'd really need to see it first to be accurate.
If the damage down to the primer layer or just through the clearcoat?
Down the side - wing and rear 1/4 panel as well, or just the doors?
At a guess - if all the panels, and painting is required, you're looking at at least $7-800 to get it done.
Bear in mind the car will be with them for 3-4 days, so if you need transport to get about, then you'll need to factor that in to the price you expect the dealer to drop it by.
