I wonder what happened to cars in 1988 that made this mod suddenly "work"?

This seller is clearly a scammer. All his auctions were created at the same time, which indicates some kind of automatic script listed the items.

He's out to rip off some idiots who are willing to pay 3 bucks in shipping to receive absolutely nothing in return.

by looking at the seller's other purchase on ebay, it seems that he is trying to recover from bad credit...

I have tried this on my old Ford. It works... but not to the extent of 20HP... maybe u can feel a little more power.. and I just want to say that it might void the warranty or cause the service light to come up. Be careful. I dun trust those cheap shit no more.

Is there any way to report these type of scams to ebay before he rips off anyone?

Yes, there is. I submitted a report to e-bay's fraud monitoring division.

Quote:
Topics > Safe Trading > If Something Goes Wrong > Fraud >
Item number: 2432285221; MO !00000! 081903

Payment Method: Other Payment (specify in your note below)
Date of Payment: 01/01/01
Customer concern: To e-bay fraud detection department:

This seller may be doing business fraudulently on e-bay. Please take a look at his listings and take any action you deem appropriate.

Here is a a sample.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2432285221

(In this particular case, he specifies the item works on vehicles from 1988-2003, but the Acura TSX is a 2004 vehicle.)

By charging $3.75 in "shipping costs" which he needn't make good on. With over 350 listings, all he needs is a dozen or so dummies to fall for this and he'll make an easy 50 bucks before getting caught. I'm sure he's hoping for more to get "purchased" though.
