The tsx would be the perfect car for 'Bullrun'

theres a show called bull run that comes on spike at 2 am that i recently got addicted to which has a bunch of different cars racing from city to city in a gumball rally style event. everytime i watch it i cant help but think the tsx would be THE perfect car for the event. slap on a supercharger, coilovers, stiffen up the chasis and slap on some nice tires and i think you'd be able to hang with almost any car in any of the elimination events. driving city to city you'd be getting 30+ mpg so that would definatly help with the time and plus you have honda reliability so you wouldnt have to worry about your car breaking down on you. someone should enter their car next season and represent azine!

if not the tsx what car in the honda/acura family do you think would be a better choice. DISCUSS!

I think the Bullrun is a repeat of last summer. Cars featured are a Charger, M3, Lambo, F150, Old school Chevy, Honda Civic, Old school stang, Scion, Lotus, Trans Am, etc. Don't know what the Criteria was to get selected. I guess it was a mix of old School, econocars, a truck, and exotics.

You can join the bullrun for about $1000 I think it was with a partner. The rules are to drive the speed limit between stop points. At the stop points you either given obstacles to do with the car or puzzles which you have to solve which gives hints to where the next stop is. The stop points must be reached by a certain time. If you reach this stop points too soon, you lose points and vice cersa. This is somewhat how they control you from speeding trying to get there faster than others. Either way, a great experience. They had an event out here in Texas that started in Dallas and ended somewhere in Texas (I think it was a full day or 2 day event). Look it up, it was posted in the CL racing section I believe.

In my opinion any car will do. It's having the right minds in the front seats to solving the puzzles and working with the clues to finding the finish line. (I only based this on the event I read about) I'm not 100% sure how all gumballs work.

It is the one from last year I think. The Bull Run ended in Key West where I am from and it has a lot more cars in it than you see on the show. They had everything from a Cadillac DTS to a Spyker. They only do the obstacle courses and stuff on the show. Im sure they dont do the speed limit either

These are some pictures I took of two cars that got flown into Key West where the finish line was. I really don't know how thwy don't consider this cheating

^^ Never stated they don't break the rules. What I was trying to point out is that they attempt to control them from acting like jackasses doing triple digits on the freeways during the day dangering everyone's lives. It's why you lose points for hitting check points faster than the stated times you should be hitting them. And they go by the minutes from my understanding. Overall, it's suppose to be a safe and fun event.

i dont think theres a speed limit rule or a time penalty for arriving too soon. u see people on the show getting pulled over by cops for speeding and they dont get penalized for it so im not sure if thats a rule or not. the little events that they do are hillarious. only place where you'll see honda civics beating out lambos in a slalom event or something haha.

TSX would be cool to see, but if I were going on it I'd get an E92 335i. Add PROcede, KW V2 coilovers, Michelin PS2's, Supersprint exhaust and BBS LM's and I think you would be set hahaha

EDIT: Can't forget the V1 hahaha

It would be sweet to see an e92 take on the others, but not until the high pressure fuel pump problem gets fixed. Also various peeps reporting limp mode issues while running PROcede.

I can't find the original thread on the Cannonball that was held in Texas with the rules. I am not speaking for all the gumballs, I was only going by that one particular event.

On that Bullrun T.V. show with Goldberg the contestants actually weren't "allowed" to exceed the speed limit. Remember there was an episode where the guys in the F-150 videotaped the guys in the Lotus speed. They showed it to Goldberg at the next checkpoint and the guys in the Lotus were penalized several(5 I think) minutes. It screwed them up for the challenge.

If you think about it there is no way those cars in the show made it as far as they did with the all the constraints placed on them, with out speeding. It's pretty much guaranteed that every one of them did.

Would a S/C TSX still get 30mpg? I've had 2 previous cars that were S/C and the fuel mileage takes dump badly with the S/C.

I thought about posting this awhile back but I figure you guys would make jokes about this subject. Anyway I don't really think the TSX would make a good choice for this show. I mean they don't make that many aftermarket part to even comptet with some of these cars. i was actully supriced that the Honda Civic Sedan made it so far in the competion

since apparently you can only do the speed limit
i would say the RL would be one of the best choices, that and the new accords
their size, comfort, V6 engines make them the perfect choice

Yeah, I've seen all of the episodes from last year. I have been staying up late and noticed that they're showing the re-runs again.

The show is mostly about your ability to navigate. If you suck, then you have to at least be able to know how to drive your car...

I think the TSX would be bad because of all the stunts. If I can lose paint from door dings, I think that many of those challenges would take out big patches of paint....
