Hi everyone! I used to own a 2011 Acura RDX and an 8th Gen Civic. A few years ago, I sold the RDX and switched to a Highlander, and later sold the Civic for an older Toyota Solara. Unfortunately, due to rust issues, I’ll soon be parting ways with the Solara.

I’m really looking forward to returning to Honda, which I’ve missed dearly. I’m considering a 2004-05 Acura TSX or TL. Which one would you recommend? I’ve heard the TSX is more reliable and offers better gas mileage compared to the TL.

 

To me I enjoy the tsx way better, I love the way my tsx drives over my 08 TL-s both were 6spd as well. The tsx and TL were similar weight but the tsx feels way more agile and more fun to drive. 🤙🏻

 

Between those two I'd take TSX. if you can swing 4th gen TL SHAWD (2012/13/14 these can be had cheap if auto), this becomes way harder to pick... But if you are concerned with gas mileage, TSX all the way.

 

I would look for a 06-08 TSX (the 6MT is the unicorn). Those model years are exactly the same with TPMS added for the 07-08 model years. Acura added some updates to that model years like fog lights, updated exterior styling, engine upgrades for 15 hp increase, updated interior, and memory driver seat. The TL model I would pick over the TSX would by the 07-08 TL Type-S.

 

Unless if it's a clean TL Type S like above poster said i'd get a TSX... much easier to maintain
