btw... this is the reason you should NEVER use combo locks at the gym.
I was at the Bally's in Hollywood a few years ago... and this guy had his car stolen. I asked him how it happened... and he told me that someone was standing next to him taking his time putting his junk in a locker. Apparently the guy watched him put his combination in... and just simply opened the Master lock.

Shelton, CT??? I've been there... it doesn't exactly seem like a hotbed of car theft.

The Integra didn't have the same security features of the TSX, did it? The Integra didn't have those special keys that are uniquely associated with each TSX. Hot wiring the TSX should not work, correct?
So, if someone is going to steal a TSX, that person would need either an actual matched key or a flatbed tow truck to get it.
If a person really wants a particular car, they can get it. But some cars have obstacles. Certainly chop shops would be a logical destination for stolen TSX's.

There were many different cases of how the person stolen the car...one being is when people first got the car, in the glove box and in the manual there is 2 spare keys..so the person knew this and broke into the car and simply opened the glove box and pulled out the key and started the car and took off!! Yeah shelton doesn't seem like a bad community but anything can happen, anywhere..o yteah and the 3 of the cars were black TSXs..so now my baby goes into the garage, locked and safe!

This is hard to think about knowing that my TSX is vunerable to theft.:'(
My '92 Accord LX sedan was almost stolen last year, but the thieves only got as far as damaging my passenger side door handle off and key slot. My Accord is one of the most popular cars to steal.:'(
We all have to be careful and our lock doors and have an alarm activated.

Interior 3 (You are looking at the trunk. They removed the rear leather seats and threw stuff around.):

All in all, it's been broken into on 3 different occasions... all 3 in differnt areas. The first 2 in a completely different state than the 3rd time.

Oh my gosh!
In his front driveway, the car's has had its wheels removed?
People have tried to break in to my former Accords--among the most frequently stolen cars--but I think the survellience/security cameras at my house which are aimed directly at anyone entering my property encourage trespassers to look elsewhere. (This is also where you discover extra nosy kids and parents being where they should not be, even if they are having a casual look-see.)
What's bad are the body shops, where my car has been broken into, but the body shop did not say anything. They tried to cover it up, which I didn't discover until a couple years later when I discovered the damage when I bought a new car stereo. When I had the new stereo installed, the installer asked me about the messy splicing job. In retrospect, I now understand the true reason for one-day delay that the body shop had requested, but I cannot prove that the damage occured at their shop. It's very clear that someone did some quick splicing repairs in the past without my knowledge or permission. God only knows what else they replaced--dash, windows, etc. I cannot tell. I do recall that my rear speakers were unplugged, which puzzled me, but I had no clue what else had happened.

Yeah, body shops and even car dealerships cover stuff like that up. Without going into details (my former employers are quite influential in the area), I have seen coverups with my own eyes with regards to theft, vandalism and even getting titles changed illegally ( I'm not sure how they did it, but it was some sort of chop shop deal, I could tell from just opening the engine bay)

Well...what's out there that can deter thieves? Please don't say the club! I mean something other than a motion detector or ignition switch cut-off. I would want something thats visible to the thief and would convince him to walk away most of the time. Any suggestions?

If they want your car, they will get it.
Remember one reason Accords are stolen so often is that there are a zillion of them, hence high demand for repair parts.
With only 15k TSXs on the market for now, not a terribly high demand for parts in the US, unless they're being stolen for resale.
Just my 2 cents.

I think it prolly has to do with the new swap kits out for the TSX's engine and the fact that the engine is 200hp and rather torquey.
The rarity in the engine because of only 15k out adds to the demand for it.
Im scared now

I think it's a sad reality to know that your new car has the potential to be stolen by some lowlife who just wants to get more out of his beat up Civic (or whatever) at your expense. I get mad just reading this and I don't even own one.

It's not just the scummy lowlife, it's all the organized crime behind chop shops and their superficial fronts of legitimate businesses. There's bucks to be made by thievery, whether it's cars, their parts, fencing stolen goods, etc.
Bless the sting operations!
