TSX Owners in S. Cali- Help please!

Hi! I'm looking into a purchasing a TSX within the next month or two, but I need a little bit of help from those who bought their car in So. Cali... I was wondering where you purchased your TSX, what trim at what price, when you bought it, and if possible, maybe even the name of the salesperson you worked with? I know that's a lot of info, but it would really help me out SOO much! hehe, I want to do all my hw before doing the buying. Thanks so much!

Hi there

We're a fun bunch and always happy to help when we can.

I have a Carbon Gray Pearl/Quartz Interior/5-speed Automatic Tranny/No-Navi. I leased the car from Cerritos Acura in May of 2003. Paying $335/month tax included with $1700 out the door. Approximate sales price was the equivalent of about $500 over invoice. I worked with Alex Vidrillo, but he no longer works there. I can recommend Acura of South Bay in Torrance. Talk to Leah Rigo. She's very knowledgeable about the car and would likely be able to help you a great deal.

Good luck finding a car. Talk to a few other SoCal owners in here to see their experiences too.

I bought my TSX through Aaero Sweet auto brokers. They found the car that I wanted (NBP/Ebony 6MT with Nav) and flatbedded it to my house. I also got a good deal on the price. Didn't have to even talk to a dealer, except for test drives.

I went through my credit union. They don't make any money on the car--maybe a few hundred above invoice. However, they do make money off of the loan. At the same time, being a credit union member, they'll usually give you a good rate. Try that! Also, make sure to get Navigation. I'll never go back to non-nav again.

I bought mine from Acura of the Desert. PWP w/parchment interior, non-navi, 5AT, mudguards, trunk tray, wheel locks. Picked up on Dec. 19, 2003. Paid $25,000 + tax and license. I e-mailed about 15 dealers in So Cal with a firm offer. I got about 1/2 of them responding with counter offers. Dale Shirmer (internet manager) from Acura of the Desert e-mailed me back saying he would have the car I want in stock in 2 days and accepted my offer. I called, we talked, he faxed me the offer (with the car VIN) and I counter signed and faxed back. This was on Tuesday. That Friday my wife and I drove down to Cathedral City and picked up the car. Dale was on the up-and-up, no games, I highly recommend him.

Car shopping update (kinda long!):

Hmm...went to two dealerships today: Thomas Acura of Covina and Weir Canyon Acura in Anaheim. First off, Thomas Acura had an AWESOME test drive course! Also, they were very very helpful in trying to get me the price and finance rate I wanted. They offered me the car I wanted (CG w. Ebony int. 5A. w/Navi) $30,401.60 OTD (including tax, fees, etc.) with a $14K down and 4.49% APR for 36 mos. We were just about to close the deal but my mom and I decided to check out one more dealership: Weir Canyon. I didn't have that great of an experience here. Dorikin: I asked for Monica and Danny Nava but by time I arrived, they weren't there anymore so I worked with someone named Don. He said the $29800 price was just a bragging price and that it was not possible- he said it would probably end up to be around 31 or 32K...THEN i showed him the price Thomas Acura was willing to offer me...and he "talks with his manager" and says that they could do it at that price...however, they couldn't give us the low finance rate and instead offered us $349 for 60 mos. at 5.49% APR. Totally not cool...and we were planinng to leave and think about it, when Don introduced us to a very unfriendly and PUSHY finance manager who scared the crap out of me with his demanding tones. All I wanted to do was just think about it, but he kept probing and making it seem like my mom and I were stupid. SO NOT COOL. Don and that finance manager made my mom and I feel like we were poor people that would not be able to afford the car. They can SUCK MY TOE. *that's all my venting* thanks for reading! Anyways, so what do you guys think about the Thomas Acura offer?

I got mine at Pasadena. I paid $25.8k including destination charge. No Navi, with mud guard, wheel lock. If you are interested, call Acura of Pasadena and look for Frank. BTW the dealer which has best reputation is Thomas Acura in west covina.

miss gan:

You have to talk to Monica because she will hook it up for you..she's on the boards sometimes too...I feel bad that you went all that way and didn't get that good of a deal...thomas acura offered me 28115 + tax/license which is about 30926 otd...nowhere near my price so I left them =(

talk to monica if you can....just give her a call and said john wu referred you and you already know about my price....they did it for that price cuz i didn't want no trunk trey/wheel locks/paint protection..make sure you say that =)

I'm going to email Monica and tell her about your bad experience for sure...do you remember the naem of the finance manager?

John:
I don't remember the name of the finance manager...sorry. The main thing that really *arghs*ed me was that the salesperson did not work with me at all and did not try his best to give me a price I wanted (maybe cuz it was getting late and he had already sold 2 cars?). Anyways, I was a bit discouraged after going there but I will contact Monica sometime during the week. Thanks for all your help! I appreciate it! So you got your tsx for 29800 otd with tax n all?

TSXEuphoria:
You paid $25.8 K otd w/ tax and other junk fees?

TSX Buying Experience in Southern CA

I just bought a 6sp. silver/quartz TSX with Nav at Keyes Acura. $27,100 plus tax and license. Very positive buying experience including the financing part. They upheld the price we negotiated over the phone, gave me a reasonable price for my trade-in (based on blue book price) and ended up arranging great financing. I had my credit score printed out, and had previously arranged financing through my credit union. While they didn't make it easy to finalize the credit union loan they did offer me a loan for essentially the same rate ( < 4%).

I started at Thomas Acura and had a *terrible* experience. First they quoted me a fabulous price. When I called to see if they really had a car to go along with the price they said opps, wrong price. Here's the real one ($1,400 more). Then.. I said ok when I called to finalize the deal they said oops. the car with the features/colors you want has $1,800 of extra equipment that we'll sell to you for $1,500. At that point I'd had enough.

I pick up the car next week!

Got it! :D

Got my TSX (CG/Ebony/5AT/Nav) at Sierra Acura of Alhambra for 29313 OTD with all that mudguard, wheel locks, truck tray stuff. I got there late that day (about closing time) so i didn't really feel like haggling some more. Didn't seem hard for them to help me get that price though. I think you'd be able to get it for 29K with a little bit more persuasion. The finance manager is also very nice. So..the people at Sierra are quite friendly and easy to work with. I worked with a girl named Chau.

Anyways, I've had my car for about 2 weeks now and am very satisfied!

i wonder if it's harder to do deals when you pay cash?

cuz i could swear I tried EVERYTHING to get the price down...but i guess if they're not banking off the monthly interest..they're less willing to deal

same place where we got ours, 1 1/2 mos ago, $28800 + fees 5at w/ navi, wheel locks, trunk tray and mud guards and you're right the finance manager is great, not like other finance managers that will force you to get extended warranty and other BS.
