Thumbs up TSX in the OC

I just bought a 2004 Artic Blue Pearl TSX w/Nav. I've been shopping for about a year with no luck. Either bad dealers, bad deals or both! Three days ago, however, I went to the Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union (OCTFCU) and found things a little bit different. My broker, Loren Graham, gave me a good price, low interest rate ($1000 over invoice and 4.5%) with a 72 month/100,000 warranty. Dealers were quoting me almost 4k over price at 12% interest! Needless to say, I jumped at the deal and took delivery yesterday! If you live in southern california and want an easy way to buy any cay, I'd recommend that you go through your local credit union.

Now, does anyone have any tips on how to clean my car? I'm excited!

Way to go on your purchase.
But more importantly, why is it "The OC"?

OC means Orange County, right? Making it "The Orange County". Sounds odd. Other Californians don't say "The Compton", or "The Hollywood". If you lived in Beverly Hills, I could understand "The Hills".

Can you give an east coast boy some insight?

They add the THE in order to make it sound cooler.

I think it is about as lame as talking about your self in third person. Coachfraley doesn't want fries with that!

the "the" really has no meaning; it's kind of redundant. however, it does sound much better saying "the" with the name of the county, though. for example, we say: "he lives somewhere in the OC," instead of "he lives somewhere in OC." we use the term "909" (an area code) for most places in Riverside County, but the term "the RC" is almost unheard of. example: "i lived in the 909 for a while." hope this helps.

also, the "break-in" period of the car is supposedly 600 miles. i believe there is a paragraph on this in the owner's manual. my rule of thumb is wait at least 1000 miles or your 1st oil change if you're the really cautious/paranoid type (i waited 3000 miles on all my cars and have never been disappointed.......yet).

I doubt I'll be able to make it. I would be able to make it to an August meeting though. I'll keep an eye on any posts for the next meeting and how the 27th meeting fared. At any rate, thanks for the head's up!

carbon grey with the ebony interior. i've only seen one other CG in the area (it was on PCH and Aviation right across Rocky Cola (probably about a month or two ago). if you saw a dark-skinned guy (i'm indian) in his mid 20's, that was me.

hmmm........you live in RH or PV? or was that just a great place for a photo op? either way, maybe i need to take mine out there with my brother's '00 black TL for some pictures.

Haha...I actually don't live in PV or RH, though my girlfriend does. I just go up there to shoot pictures. Actually, that's where we're having a meet on the 27th so if you can find time, we'd love to see you there.

I don't think I've seen you or your car around, but I'll be sure to look for it now. Do you live down toward the beach or up in the hills?

in between (near aviation and PCH). where's the meet at? i'll try to make some time for that, even if it's only for a short while.
