I'm sure I'll get a ticket someday for this stunt, but I like that the third and fourth gears are ideally suited for leaping from 65 - 90 in a couple of heartbeats. The conservative, law-abiding driver would pull over and/or slow down, but sometimes on these roads, pulling into the draft of a detritus-spewing dump truck or languid tractor trailor or distracted yuppie/soccer mom on the cell phone is not the preferred option. Down shift, warp speed, problem solved. The moral of this story: my TSX ain't a "sports car," but it sure plays the part when I ask it to.

I thought the TSX got me from 60-90 fast enough when i needed to "get away from those jerks" up until my buddy pulled up next to me in his brand new BMW 3 series coupe and make me look like i was standing still

He let me drive it after that fact and HOLY CRAP!!!! Our cars are NOT sports cars.....

Around here, Subis love to blow my doors off. I think they need to show they got $40k performance for $25K.

Heard a 16 year old boy killed three with a WRX, passing a trailer at 90mph in a 30 mph zone. The WRX replaced a riced out prelude he totalled. What were his parents thinking? This is a good compromise off the STI?

On Sunday I had a Porsche Cayenne S rev at me since I got out of the gym.

I'm not an idiot, so I did nothing but just go at normal speeds (was in a 35 zone anyways) but he just flew off. Too bad there are lights every 100 feet, and for the next 4 lights, he got a red light.

So every time we were stopped at the lights, he would rev like crazy glancing over to see what I was doing.

Either he just got the Porsche and was testing it, or always drives like that...

Car looked damn nice, but guy looked like a douchebag...

Laughing your ass off at him, I hope. (Like the girls in the convertible in the free credit report tv ad.) At that rate, his brakes and tranny won't last beyond the decade. -- The Cayenne is an SUV, right? Did he think "Cayenne" was the new "Carrera?"

Maybe you should move before one of these brats totals you and your car....

Yeah, I was worried about his brakes...

I just got new brake pads installed, so I've been gentle on mine these days.

I got a chance to drive the Cayenne a couple years ago and I'll just say that even though it's an SUV, it's still very much a Porche. Those things are such an absurd creation. It scares the hell out of me how many soccer moms I see in them. The twin turbo version has 450 horsies rocketing it's 5000 pounds around. Yikes.

Fornicate all that power in Subarus.

We mid-lifers call it a "transformation," but it's the same anyway.

Thank you. I started to post a gentle scolding and caught myself before submitting. Then again, maybe he's posting from a Crackberry or iPhone....

Neither lacks a period key.

I know I'm being excessively harsh but the comfort with mediocrity of much of today's youth causes me great distress about the future of our civilization. Stupid must not be allowed to proliferate.

Amen brother. Perhaps with a little more friendly reminding and the occasional scolding from our members, these slackers will remember that they did once get a lesson in basic grammar.

Even if that is true, most have full size QWERTY keyboards. There's not much of a reason to not type properly. Maybe I'm crazy, but when I text on my Treo I type just like I'm typing here (two fastest thumbs in the west!). It's easy enough and I still sound like I'm somewhat of an intelligent person.

i cant stand ppl who type like this b cuz their lazy it feels disrespectful and like im not worth their time 2 spend the extra 2nd 2 use proper language.

It's hard for me to do it, period. lol

Hell, I type with proper capitalization, punctuation and spelling using just the numeric pad on my phone when I send text messages.

It's funny when I see emails going around at work with people typing like that not realizing how stupid it makes them look. Believe me, important people notice.

There's no more 'tsx4lyfe' and no reason I can see to keep this thread open now. If anyone would like to open another thread to discuss the TSX's merits as a sports car, or why it isn't one, feel free to. This one is done.
