TSX Engine Piston Speeds - What Do They Mean?

I rememeber a while back when the TSX was being introduced, there was talk about how the pistons speeds were faster than normal, closer to that of a formula car piston speeds, or something like that. Is this true? And what does that mean in terms of performance, reliability, ...etc?

If I recalled correctly the TSX engine piston speed is around 22m/s. It seems that is very few production engine over 20m/s. I have seen a thread somewhere listing engines over the 20m/s practical limit. However, in order for Honda to improve torque in this engine had to rise the piston course and lower the piston bore, thus you have to rise the piston speed. I know that Honda produce a 2.0L liter engine that make 200Hp@8000 (S2000?) but at lower torque range.

It is. But don't worry. The only thing piston speed affects is the material stresses at given RPMs. That's why our redline is so low (for a Honda).

Does this mean with a better internals and a reflash we could achieve more power easily?

Not quite as close as a formula 1 engine =) They'll hit 40 meters\sec and average 25 during a race.
