I want to get a cargo net but the TSX cargo net needs to be installed and is a pain in the ass- anyone hear about a A4 cargo net or 350Z cargo net that is compatible w Acura TSX?

I've seen a few folks use the 350z net just fine. I'm not a fan of the OEM net for the TSX.

Neither am I- you have to bracket the thing up on the side- it's ridiculous- ill look into 350Z.. i heard COUPE fits better than ROADSTER- we'll see

I have the 350Z Coupe net in my TSX and it's PERFECT. 4 clips that attach to the pre-existing D-rings in the TSX floor and you're set.

Curls- Do the hooks on the 350Z cargo net get hooked up directly to the D-links on the TSX? Or must you buy some type of connector to go from 350Z coupe cargo net to the TSX D-hooks? Thanks very much for the info by the way-

i have the 350z net...it fits perfectly...you could have a friend take a look at your trunk, and they won't notice that it's out of place or anything. All of the clips are at the right angle to clip to our TSX. Acura should buy a ton of the 350z nets to sell in their dealerships lol

As for the net, SoCaliTrojan nailed it -- it fits perfectly and doesn't look at all out of place. It should be what Acura sold from day 1. It's 4 simple heavy-duty plastic carabiner clips, one on each corner. They clip to the D-rings in your trunk. Installation time = 4 minutes (20 seconds for installation, 3min 40sec to slam back a beer for a job well done.). Tell your wife/gf that you'll be in the garage all day installing something convenient for groceries and you can drink all you want. A good trick is to stuff a pair of ratty jeans with newspaper and place them under your car w/ the lower 1/2 sticking out, with boots on... make it LOOK like you're under the car. In the meantime, go to a bar with some buddies.

I purchased a 350Z coupe cargo net online for $30+shipping and this is what you need instead of the Acura cargo net. It is a clam shell design (top/bottom net), lays flat on the floor when not in use, and it hooks up perfectly to the four existing hooks in the trunk.

I have both cargo nets, but I don't use the Acura net.

I just installed the OEM TSX cargo net last weekend...it wasn't near the pain in the ass I was expecting.

All the holes in sheet metal are already there, you just drill a hole in the side trunk liners using some crappy templates. If you have never taken apart the trunk, it may take you a while. I have taken the trunk apart a few times before so I had some idea of where to pull and how hard a could without breaking stuff. I would guess it took me an hour total. You will need the instructions because there are different sized bolts, washers, and collars. Yes, it is over complicated given that it is simply a net, but it wasn't too difficult to install.

BTW, the net works like a charm....should have been standard in the first place.

The photo above of my car shows both the 350Z net (lying flat attached to the 4 existing trunk rings) and the Acura net (hanging, installed at Acura right after purchase).

I purchased the Acura net and didn't like how it is in the way all the time and it doesn’t hold much. I searched and purchase the 350Z net and I like it a whole lot better.

oh wow my mistake.. i didnt even notice two nets in the first photo.. i can see how it would become a pain sitting upright like that..

now does anyone know a good spot for deals on the black trunk mat and tan colored all season floor mats.. all i see on ebay are in the 100 plus range or more with shipping.. just curious if the tan matts also look like crud after a little use

eBay usually gives you a good starting price and rape you on the shipping. I bet the above site would save you 50% on the shipping cost.

Can't bet the look of the black all weather mats for any interior color!! Had my black mats for 12 months and they still look new.

I too have both nets, and I like the combination. The 350 net is great for holding things, and won't crush stuff...but sometimes you need the utility of the vertical net. It also stops things rolling all over. Make sure you get the 350Z COUPE net though...

I bought one (actually a bunch of those) from the 99-cent store. They comes with red, orange, and black. They hook to that four hooks in the truck nicely.

I thought about getting one of these, but I have so much junk in my trunk (hmm, that doesn't sound right) that I don't know if it'll do any good. I got a plastic crate (used for hanging files and such) to hold things so that they don't roll around. I also got something made to hold stuff in the trunk, but it just collapses, folds over, and lets stuff dump right out. Not too useful.

I got lucky with my 350z net.

I went to the dealership but they didn't have any in stock...except for one just laying around. It didn't have the clips or UPC label so the parts guy sold it to me for $5.

Went to Wal-Mart and bought some carabiners (you may have one on your key chain)

Since the carabiners are a little bigger than the clips, it's not exactly snug, but it works.

Total cost <$10

try googling nissan courtesy parts- mine is from there it was like 35 or so- you prob wont find it for much cheaper..... 35-40 is decent- the thing fits like a glove its so freakin money

I don't see how it turns into such an worldwide quest for some folks. All I did was was step into a Nissan dealership and order a net from the parts department. One week later I had the net, only cost me 20-something dollars, IIRC - 30-something at the most.

I got a cargo net from my acura dealership and they had to custom install it. Total cost $183 + tax. Whatever!

Drilling and installing two sturdy hooks against the side wall in the middle of the trunk (actually about 2 to 3 feet from the edge of the trunk). Since the TSX only comes with a hook that comes from the floor of the trunk and from the edge. Apparently the 350z cargo net is supposed to work well without the need of custom installation. But I just go for OEM and it's not as ugly or bad like some people made it sound. I only had to pay $83 as opposed to looking at Target, having to set a foot in the Nissan parking lot (UGH I DESPITE NISSAN!) and ask for a cargo net then hooking it up myself. Maybe have to buy some hooks, I don't know. I had a peace of mind by just taking my TSX to Acura and put my trust in them to do high quality work while I wait in the high quality waiting room.
