TSX ABS, VSA, and TCS

Here are some general info on how these systems work. It provides the info on the infamous "scraping sound" when the car initially moves.

Btw, in case you are curious, the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor is under the driver seat. The steering angle sensor is right on the steering column.

Very nice... Thanks JTso (even though I could look in my own manual, I'd rather have it spoon fed to me, LOL).

Knowing how things work is nice but I really didn't start to appreciate them until I felt them in action.

If you want to try this, find a big empty parking lot with nobody around -- preferably on a rainy or snowy night to make it easier to lose traction at lower speed.

Once yaw control has pulled you out of an understeer you may be less inclined to drive with VSA off.

JTso: You are looking in the Helm's, correct? I have my 04/05 Helm's in front of me and on page 19-40 (next page from your scans), there is a description regarding Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) Features.

Anyone know if EBD is on the 2004 AND the 2005 models, or is it just on the 2005's? The text under the heading reads:
"Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) has been added to the VSA system. EBD eliminates the need for an external, mechanical proportioning valve and improves overall braking performance."

The key word there is "ADDED" -- added to the 2005's? Or added to VSA for all TSX's as opposed to the VSA for other Acuras?

Anyone know anything about this??

Thanks!

It must be new to the 05 because there is a proportioning valve on the 04 driver side shock tower.

Edit: I just checked and there is no mentioning of EBD in the 04 manual.

Good ol' proportioning valve.

I gotta go reading through my service books again. Though I don't do much on the TSX anymore. The S2K gets all the attention.
