Trying to buy my first TSX...

I'm looking for a TL or TSX in the 8-10k range. From what I hear, I should avoid 2004 TSX because of the possible AC issues and it's a first generation anyway.

So my options:

#1:

Excellent Condition, Pearl White 2005 Acura TSX Loaded! Well Maintained- excellent records kept. LOADED with integrated touch screen Navigation System, heated seats, automatic sun roof, powered seats, cream colored leather interior, wood trim upgrade, 5-speed automatic, XM Satellite Radio, 5-Disk CD changer, Power everything, & much more.

Includes, Acura (4) matching floor mats, never used spare tire and jack set, 3 programed car keys, 1 remote & car user manual. Owned by a non-smoker. No body damage or interior issues. Interior carpet clean and stain free!
$9,995 OBO. 114K miles. VIN # JH4CL96995C024686 - Over 25 miles per gallon, rides awesome! CLEAN carfax report and title! Available ASAP. Great reliable car! Please e-mail me if you are interested!
Looks great but 114 is a lot of miles. I know for Acura in general it's "low" .. it's around 15-16k miles per year since 2005.

Thoughts?

I just sold my 05, and it had 178K miles on it. That car was relatively bulletproof, but maintenance is the key (with any car actually, but Honda's in particular). If the regular maintenance was performed (including the recommended brake fluid changes every 3 years, which is one thing that can separate the people who do what they have to do from the people who do what they're supposed to do). There are a few maintenance items that should have been performed by the time that mileage figure was reached. The valves should have been adjusted, and the spark plugs should have been replaced. Coolant and trans fluid should be fairly fresh. The Nav is getting old, and is one thing that can be problematic in 05's. I wouldn't dismiss this car, but you might be able to do better on the price.

I love the looks of that car. But i am a little biased. It looks exactly like mine. :-) That is a very beautiful color combination of pearl white exterior and tan interior.

114k is not that much mileage if it has been well taken care of.

Take a look at the maintenance records. Check for oil changes about every 5000 miles.

Check the transmission operation. Does it shift properly and effortlessly?

Also check for any transmisssion noises while driving or in park.

Check if there is any noise coming from transmission while the car is in park or neutral that goes away when the car is placed in drive.

Check for any leaks of the power steering fluid. There was a recall for this issue. If it has a leak on the upper hose, Acura will replace for free.

Check for uneven wear in all four tires. You may not be able to do this if the tires were recently changed.

^^ Ditto. And I also have the same car/color. If they did the service and you can see the oil changes and tranny fluid changes, etc.. I think is a good buy!
