True Invoice Price ???

Not sure if this has been asked before or not ...

BUT .........

What is the TRUE invoice price of this car (NON-NAVI)???

On EDMUNDS.COM it is stated as being $24647 (24147+500 destination), and I assume this is what everyone is using.

HOWEVER ... over at KBB.COM (Kelley Blue Book) - which they say is what the DEALERS use OVER Edmunds for Trade-in Values ... the INVOICE price is $23457 (22957+500 destination) ...

So, $24647 - $23457 = $1190 ...

That's a pretty big difference ?

If you USE $23457 as the invoice price, then there's a PURE profit amount of $3533 baed on the $26990 sticker price .. correct ???

So, which is the CORRECT invoice ?? And why is Kelley showing that one ??

My dealer told me there's $2K of profit margin between invoice and MSRP excluding destination charges on the NAVI model.

given the low cost of the navi components, I would suspect that it is a bit less than $2K on non-nav TSXs.

You can goto your dealer and as for the invoice price. They should show you it. Thanks to the wonders of "supply and demand" acura can consistantly a large amount of money from the TSX, the same holds true for the MDX. And I am very doubtful that very many people can get a price close to inovice.

Okay, it ranges between 24300 to 24900. I'm certain of that, there's no way it can be below 24000.

go to www.carbuyingtips.com. they tell you how to calculate the true invoice price of cars.

but from my calculations, here is the breakdown:
invoice-incentives/rebates-holdback=dealer's cost
invoice-holdback=dealer's cost (since there are no incentives/rebates).

ken and eb .. I didn't even want to mention the Holdback, but I already knew about it.

I wasn't looking for true dealer COST -- that it invoice MINUS the holdback and any other incentives -- but that's not the case with the TSX, since there are no incentives and the only factor is the HOLDBACK (which you really shouldn't discuss when making a deal anyway - dealers/sales managers don't like hearing it !!)

MY concern is the discrepancy of the POSTED invoice prices .. they differ by $1190 on the different sites.

I assumed the invoice was $24,647 .. until I saw the $23,457 figure on KBB ...

This would HELP in the negotiating process, don't you think ???

WHICH one is correct ? SOMEONE has to know !!!
