Trans Fluid change by Honda vs Acura
Does anyone think there would be a problem getting my Transmission fluid changed by a Honda dealer vs Acura dealer?
The reason I ask I can save approx.$40.00 by going to Honda. Is there a difference between Honda fluid vs. Acura they both use DW-1 correct?
I notice that Honda's fluid says Honda on it and Acura says Acura on it both DW-1.

Same fluid (if for no other reason than it's the same transmission). Be sure to find out if they'll do to the job correctly (assuming you want a complete fluid change)(as complete as can be accomplished that is). That mean it swapped out 3 times with some transmission action in between (even if it's done on the lift, though with no load, the transmission won't want to shift). It's not cheap: 9 quarts of fluid (at around $9 a quart), a washer, probably some plastic push rivets (it's pretty common to break a few while removing the belly pan), plus labor. Parts alone should be around $100. If this doesn't sound right, they're not selling you a complete fluid change (again, this assumes that what you looking for).
