AT Tranny Flush..
Just noticed fluid was kinda brown. I know manual says 120k or 6 years...mine is at 80k might as well do it.
just wondering if its 3 or 4 quarts..? and quick drain and fill...?

Agree with the first part, and definitely go for it, but.... I haven't noticed any difference in the performance of the transmission (which may lend credence to the longish change interval).

i was told the Transmission fluid filter is internal to the tranny and can't be removed. thus you can't do a proper "flush" with these transmissions.
is this incorrect?

06 TSX - Auto Trans change @ ~40K miles
I had my auto-trans fluid changed last year on my 06 TSX at the dealer in Sacramento - it was brown - and they do a drain/refill/drive/drain/refill/road test. This was at about 4 yrs and 40,000 miles, first time. It did run smoother ... at least I want to think so for the $200 cost.
My Mercedes-Benz crazed friend (machinist by trade) also told me changing the fluids in addition to standard crankcase oil (i.e., brake, coolant and auto-trans) is recommended every few years for his MB. Reasons various - brake fluid attracts moisture; coolant degrades; auto-trans oil gets hot and will degrade. He's a perfectionist, so I don't even try to argue the credibility of his claims.
Needless to say, I have done all those items in the past year knowing the shops are healthy with my $$ and I hope it makes my TSX last a little longer. Support that economy! I wonder if the power steering fluid should be changed out?
That's my $200 worth.

There is a filter outside. It sits on top of the transmission (if you look in, down, and below the fuse/relay boxes behind the battery, you can see it in-line in one of the transmission fluid lines). There isn't a change interval for this filter (lifetime?), so I assume it doesn't do much, but.... it's not too tough to change and fairly cheap (+- $20), so I changed it anyway.

It's part #4 in the diagram. Check the manual on how much needs to be added as it varies from each Honda model but it is usually less than 3 quarts for AT and 2 for MT. Also get a replacement washer for the drain nut.
