No, this was back when I was in Cali. I've only been in NoVA for 3 months.

This story freaked me out as I was reading it because my brother had almost the exact same thing happen to him. He was driving my dad's brand new Toyota Supra home from the junior prom. It was around 2am and he'd just dropped off his girlfriend and was one block from our house. He ran up on the median and hit a tree. The tree basically went through the car. 4 flat tires, all windows broken, but he came away with just minor cuts from the glass (and loss of driving priviliges until he could pay for his own insurance). The car was actually drivable, so my dad pulled it off the median and parked the twisted wreck in front of our house before dawn.
Instead of replacing the Supra, my dad bought a new Porsche 944. In retrospect, the Supra was a better choice (Porsche was an unreliable money pit).
If you can afford it, I say get a new TSX. You're alive and learned an important lesson without hurting anyone else, so it's all good.

Read your policy!

As for getting another TSX, wont your insurance company do that for you?

Mix boredom, traffic, 5 hour drive, heat, and darkness, and you could definitely fall asleep.
There were two instances when I dozed off for split seconds numerous amount of time, and it was really hard to snap out of it.

And you are a model of the perfect driver? People that should not be on the road are ricers that blaze down the roads at 100mph. Everyone has their faults and I learned the hard way. Needless to say that I did learn my lesson.
Thanks everyone for the input. I feel a lot better about things.

I've fallen asleep once. I had a 13 hour drive to and from school (NYC to South Bend, IN), and it was all on one long straight road. Once I was about 2 hours from home, it was about 5PM and I just nodded off. Woke up when I hit the rumble strips on the side of the road a few seconds later, saved my life. Drove to a rest stop and took a nap... didn't get molested.
Best advice I can give is open the window and get some cold air until you get a chance to pull over and take a short nap.
Also, being tired (not just sleepy) can really effect driving too, I know after a long day of work I've made some mistakes and had some close calls... it's bad, but there is really nothing you can do about it.

Sorry, I was mistaken... driving under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol is excluded by most polices. Falling asleep behind the wheel, however, is not.
So don't drink and drive!

I'd look into a Subaru Legacy before buying the same car. No doubt, the TSX is a safe car, and I would not rule out buying another one.
