How about the new 2008 Cadillac CTS? I'm seriously in love with that car. You could get a really well equipped model for $36K (in MT, of course), and with the way GM has been discounting cars, you could probably get it for $32, only 2K more than a TSX with navi.

I believe their lease rate is only $370 right now. I pay about that for my 07 TSX Nav.

Good point, the new CTS is one of the best cars GM has ever produced..it's gorgeous inside.

Volkswagen GTI MkV??

If you had the auto in the TSX, you may like the DSG better

How about a Civic Si sedan. (Not the overpriced Mugen Si) All the performance, (more actually) reliability and practicality of the TSX for less. You are a student after all.

Yea, as impressive as the TSX is...the performance leaves a lot to be desired. The Civic Si reminds me of the TSX minus the "A" badge.

thanks for all your guys' input but i ended up getting an 08 TSX since i got a good deal on it.
$25,600 + 36 months free oil change/tire rotation + got the paint and leather protection for less than half price

Those that asked about selling parts...insurance said i won't be able to take anything off of it. sorry guys.

Also those that wanted to know how much insurance pays for totaled TSX. My totaled TSX was 06...no navi...about 15,000 miles and i got about $27,100.

Congrats on the car, but be prepared to work hard to take care of it. Black paint is a pain in the ass to keep clean and looking good.

So your insurance paid out a higher amount than what you bought a brand-new TSX for? Wow, the cars do keep their value....

Kept waiting to hear the conclusion of your saga. Glad you went with the TSX once again, and I agree with your perception of the '08 vs. '09 (at least with what we know thus far about the '09) I bought my '08 based on the particular combination of economy vs. "fun to drive" vs. luxury vs. price that the TSX offers...

congrats on your purchase. You and I should meet up since we have same Power Acura license plate and everything, it's gonna be classic black and white! haha you got a better price than what I got one for, I didn't pull out any free oil changes, but I got wheel locks, fenderwell trim, and mudguard for free. Take care of your car well!

Well, congrats on your purchase. If i had to buy another car today, I'd head on down to the Cadillac dealership and pick me up a 2008 CTS with the base 263hp engine, the luxury collection package, and the 6 speed auto tranny. The MSRP is around $37K, but I'm sure I could get it under $34K. With the list of standard features on that car, you just can't go wrong:

hoho you too! i may have gotten a few dollars off but thats because they tried to price match as close as possible to the price i bought my 06 tsx from them which was $25,500. You got the color i wanted hoho its ok though...i'm starting to like my black tsx. Yea i don't really live in Torrance i live near torrance...more closer to western and sepulveda if you know where that is. But yea you take care of your car too!

hmm...If you are looking
new: Grab the One Series (Probably better performing than the TSX)
Used: Grab a TL...you could snatch a 06 for under 30

4-years free scheduled maintenance, which is only every 15,000 miles. Even with a couple of tune-ups thrown in for good measure, that comes to maybe $2000. A comparably equipped car is going to be at least $5000 more. Plus, factor in the cost of insurance, taxes, etc. and the 1-series gets a little less appealing.

You don't get 4 years maintenance and warranty "free". You pay for it, just up front when you buy the overpriced vehicle.

Second that. Also think about why BMW would offer such a thing - maybe because they know maintenance and repair costs are an issue and they're trying to lure you in.

I've already gotten 4 new rotors, 4 brake pads, 2 brake lines, 2 brake sensors, an interior trim cover, and an oil change on my bimmer, all via 'ultimate service'.

I hate to say it, but Acura never would have warrantied all those parts. You can argue the increased maintenance cost of the bimmer certainly, but Honda brakes suck equally. And... I'm the 3rd owner of my car. I'm pleased so far, and I've got another year / 20k miles left on the service plan. After that, I will have to go back to DIY'ing!

Since buying my 06 tsx new on 11/17/06 I have received 5 oil changes, 3 tire rotations and balanced, both foglights (they cracked, a scratched-up headlight, new driver seat covering free. They are replacing the heating wires in the seats and also the driver's side door panel free. I am getting those things done the next time I am there for service (they are letting me use a loaner car and I get to choose which one I want. The last time it was a 08 tl)I very pleased with the service I receive on my acura.

What model Bimmer do you have? I am in love (actually it's infatuation) with the 335i coupe!
