Tiny Paint Chips on new TSX...

Well no idea where these came from. They are on the hood of the car and they are quite small. I went to the dealer and asked if they would do anything and they said no. So I asked them for touch up and they told me for GBP they would have to special order it and it may take a week or so!? So I did that. Check out the chips.

As I was at the dealer I saw no TSX, MDX, or RSX in stock. Just a few RLs and TLs. I talked to an older guy that was buying a TL that day and he told me that he went to all the Acura dealers in a 100mi radius and most of them are low on stock on TLs and he said he doesn't even remember seeing any TSXs. He did comment on the GBP and said he had never seen that color before on an Acura. He also concurred that CT/MA/NY are not really budging on price so he just settled because he needs a new car and he has been playing the game for about a month and was tired of it.

Anyway now I know why you guys say to not have the dealer wash your car when its in for an oil change! saw the kids washing cars and they were going so fast what is the point!

Anyway here is the pic

What do you think? Just use touch up and I'll be ok??? Thanks guys.

Heya MadMac,

I am in the same exact boat with you. Car is barely 3 weeks old and I also have 3 chips on the hood. I ordered some paint off of ebay, I'll let you know how it went. Mine are about the same exact size as yours.

Good luck,
Ish

Touch up should be fine. Go to autopia.org and you should able to find some good tip on touch up paint. I felt the same way but now, I dont care anymore. We cant do nothing about the rockchip.

i got the touch up pen from Acura. I'm glad its a pen style rather than a brush as those are always annoying as they always blob up and stuff. this pen should work well. I'll try to do some before / after pics so you guys can see.

I guess i'll clean area - touch up - and if there is any excess clay it to even the surface. let stand for one day and then polish/wax the new touched up area?

Take a look at our site, you might be surprised at our prices. And if you dont want to get the whole kit you can get a partial kit that would cover the hood, fenders, and mirrors. Thats a little cheaper. And at least you won't get any more of those rock chips on the hood. But, stop by and take a look.
