TSX is known to have a high reliability and safety rating so rest assured you will have less problems and be safe driving this car. You will be limited in getting rims if you get a 06-08 TSX since the TPMS won't work on after-market rims unless you modify the rims to make it work or get one what works with the TPMS. Get a MT TSX since it's known and expressed from many that it's more fun to drive since the TSX has good but not great power. HID lights are very good-looking (don't know which model year it started out with) but will be disliked by many oncoming vehicles coming your way since they may think it's high beaming. I get the high-beam flickering a lot from people. I heard from others the paint is poor so think about investing in a clearbra or clear shield. I did. You won't regret getting this car since it looks nice outside and inside. You may witness or already seen a lot of females driving this car (nothing against that) and it's great for both gender. I'm writing this close to 2 in the morning so if I think of anything else, I'll post some more.

like any used car it depends on how it was driven and maintained. I love my 06 6MT tsx (the 06 does not have the TPMS but has all the other goodies) I bought it new 11/17/06 and it now has almost 40,000 miles (excellent car-recommend it)

I was in the same situation as you. I was looking for a used TSX because I wanted to mod it as well. I would say that u should just look for the year you like (small differences between 04-05 to 06-07) at a decent price with not to many miles ( about 10000 or so). I bought my 06 ASM TSX for $25,000 with only 9000 miles on it.

As has been suggested before, the 06 model year seems to be the sweet spot. By 06 Acura had added a few goodies to the original 04 model, they've upped the performance slightly, and you can still get the hondata reflash (which isn't available for 07-08, or the 05AT). They also fixed some of the minor annoyances that the 04 came with. If you pick the TSX you'll get a reliable, entry-level luxury sports sedan. Fun to drive without sacreficing(sp?) fuel economy.

I could've purchased an off-lease 04 with low miles (40k-50k) for ~$13k-$14k from an auction site, but decided to buy a new one instead (liked the 06+ goodies). I got a good deal on it and low financing (2.9% for 60 months), but sometimes I think I should've bought used instead. 06+ were going for at least $21k OTD, without financing I got mine for like $28.5k OTD so I figured spending a little more to get peace of mind was worth it.

If I could go back, and could get even a low mileage 05 on the cheap, I'd probably pick that up instead.

i picked up a 07' CPO cgp/ebony 5AT non-navi for $25,600. it had 8110 miles when i picked it up a couple of weeks ago. i've been wanting a tsx for a long time and at that price point, it was dumb not to get it, especially in hawaii.

just keep in mind that you are buying a car with lots of "value". as long as you keep that in mind, you won't regret your purchase.

Agree with most of what's been stated here. I'd suggest staying away from the 04's (seem to have numerous first year problems), but don't discount the 05's. I have both an 05 and an 07, and I don't miss any of the 06+ upgrades in the 05 (especially the MID nanny). Low miles is better, but you'll pay for the privilege. Depending on how much you drive and how long you plan to keep the car may help determine how important the mileage factor is. No matter though, it's a great car and a deal for the money. Oh, and you should get that shift key on your keyboard fixed.

Wrong, the 07+ had TPMS. I have an 06, and it's missing it.

As jlukja said, get the 06; I believe the additions over the 04/05's makes it worth it.

Good luck in your search

My bad. I thought the TPMS started out on the 06 model. What model year did the HID lights started out or did it have it on the 04?

You can probably get a used one anytime you want but for a new 1G TSX, get the 08 while they are hot.
