for those who self-installed OEM bodykit
Could someone explain what I'm supposed to do with the masking tape? I couldn't tell from the directions.
Is the masking tape just for holding up the front spoiler so you can screw in the bolts?

are you referring to the double sided tape? if so that is used to hold the top part of the lip spoiler on. screw the bottom on first before you remove the masking tape. also make sure that you make sure all the tabs to pull the tape off is showing to peel off. once u peel off, hold that spot firmly for about 30 secs or so.

No, I'm not referring to the double sided tape. The instructions call for the use of "masking tape" and from the picture, I couldn't tell what the masking tape is used for. I know what the double-sided tape is for, which is why I don't see the reason to use the masking tape?

I used the masking tape to stick the end of the adhesive backings on the outside of the front spoiler. after i bolted on the spoiler, i just peeled off all the adhesive backings. this is what the instructions stated:
there was no mention of double-sided taped being needed? unless you guys used the double-sided taped for the same thing as above?
4. Attach a strip of masking tape to the ends of the
adhesive backings of the front under spoiler, peel
back the adhesive backings and temporarily attach
the adhesive backings to the top surface of the front
under spoiler. Do not peel off the adhesive backing
with tab.

I belive the masking tape does the same thing as the little clear blue pices that are already attached to some of the 3M tape. I pulled back the 3M backing that didnt have the clear blue pices about an inch and attached masking to the loose end, that way you can have a little 3M to attach the spoiler while you bolt it on and then use the masking tape to pull off the rest of the backing.
Oh it was fun, now I am sad that I dont have anything else to put on my car, for now....
