those with USAA

I know there are quite a few members who have USAA insurance. In past threads, I noticed that the rates people quoted seemed fairly reasonable.

I was just quoted $742/6 mo for a female, 28, clean driving record, garaged in the suburbs of Seattle. I'm concerned that they may be increasing my rates for two "no fault" accidents I've been in. Neither of which had to be paid out by my own insurance.

Any thoughts?

I recently dropped USAA as my insurance because they were charging so much. I am 31 female (close to your age bracket) in San Antonio, and I am paying less than $500/6 month with Progressive. I would definitely give them a call (or go to www.progressive.com). It was very easy to switch, and I have a total savings of $600 per year for me and my husband!

If they work like most California agencies they will want a 3-5 year history of all accidents, at-fault or not. So I suspect you may be on to something.

Be glad you don't have 3 tickets on top of that and that you don't live in California. My insurance quote was $1006 for 6 months from Geico for a 32 year old single male.

I's suggest you shop around.

I've been very happy with USAA for my banking... but it is hard to compare insurance because of driving records, age, state, & misc other things... so I won't bother telling you what I pay, they do not always have the best rates for certain loans mind you... so it would not hurt to shop around.

I was quoted $588 per 6 months for insurance on my TSX in PA. I have a clean driving record, no tickets, no accidents, and I'm 28.

USAA can't be beat, they're consistantly #1. IMO it's worth paying a little more to get the superior service they offer.

Please do NOT start complaining about YOUR insurance rates!!! Come live in NYC and then maybe THEN you could complain!!!
How about $1500/6mo with GEICO/29yo male/single/clean record/garage kept. Now complain if you want or just say damn I really don't have it bad.

Sheik, you really don't have it that bad. :P

I'm 22/m/FL, one 'minor' accident a couple years ago. I'm paying nearly $2000/6mos with USAA.

I agree that their service is top-notch, but when Progressive beats USAA by $600/year for 2 cars, I'll take the money and take my chances with the service. Hopefully, I won't be needing to file a claim on insurance that often (hopefully never!).

I still do all my banking with USAA, and will switch back insurance if their rates ever go down.

I am a 21 yr old male and I pay $4500/yr on USAA.

BTW, they ARE the cheapest agency for ME.

I have had 2 accidents (1 at fault, 1 in the middle of a 5 car pileup), and one run in with a deer. The deer was on USAA and they were very good to me.

The other accidents were on Nationwide (i think) and Progressive both of whom fucked me... especially Nationwide.

USAA is pricy, but you get what you pay for. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. and beleive me ive used them a lot. They are quick and efficient, bend over backwards for you and dont jerk you around.

I highly recommend them.

I have USAA on my house, special items, and my wife's and my car. I'm paying close to $2800/yr and they have been very good to me and my wife on the service, but then I have no deductible on most of my coverage. I've also been refunded any overage on my account; meaning, if the coverage was over estimated based on need, then I was refunded the amount.

I think that is pretty good service if you ask me and my wife and I have never been inconvenienced by any service or anything with USAA. She was very inconvenienced by State Farm, her previous insurance on a couple of things.
