Tell me about your XM radio experience with TSX

First I know its not an option standard. Do they install, I'm assuming basically the same radio that's in the TL or Accord.

The XM antenna on TL is sharp.

What do you use.

Thoughts?

The system in the TSX is FM modulated (if you buy the dealer package) so it won't sound as good as what they have in the Accord.

I just talked to a company that makes an adapter to connect to your CD player so the sound is digital. They do not have the adapter for the TSX yet. Im going to try tofind one. If I do I will post the name of the manufacturer.

It also costs about $1,800.

I received this fax from soundgate today.

The SNHOND3 will work to add one set of auxiliary RCA inputs to the factory
system. This retails for 129.95, and will allow the audio to pass digitally
into the car. There is no control features for the XM from the radio so you
would need a separate controller/display in order to control or see the XM.
Thanks CHET.

THe SNHOND3 is described in detail in the electronics forum.

And, my the way, the Honda OEM XM controller is a an Alpine unit that can be purchased for less than a $100 over the internet.

I recently took a drive in a colleague's TL. I really liked the XM but the display was a bit hard to read. The LCD characters were a bit blocky. Same deal on the Pioneer.

The XM-brand units (Roady, Commander) seem to have more legible displays.

Something to consider.

It sounds like it is a bit complex to install those in the Nav cars though, if you don't want to use FM modulation.

What is the best looking antenna set up for XM you've found.

Also is it true that if you are going to use FM mod. which i do in my other cars, there is a set up whereby the FM antenna can ba used?
