I just felt the need to share my current plight. I was supposed to receive my car on Thursday, and then the dealer called saying they couldn't locate it. I was immediately suspicious, but they got in touch with the shipping companies and found out my car (by tracking VIN) is in San Diego. Seems like any freight boat some containers get selected to be inspected by customs. My car happened to be sitting in those. So now customs has my car until hopefully Tuesday when it's going to get loaded on a train. I'm usually a pretty patient person, but I'm driving around in a 98 Ford Taurus auto, and I want out.

at least you know where it is and when it's coming (for the most part). mine is somewhere between japan and the port in new jersey. no VIN # yet.
This is true, and I'm trying to keep calm, but it's like I'm datin a church girl and she keeps going " ok tonight we can have sex, wait, wait, not tonight, tomorrow night, next weekend, wait till my parents go to sleep, wait, tomorrow, etc. ad nauseam".
OK, now the dealer says he has confirmation it's left customs and is on it's way. He said it is supposed to arrive on Monday. Anyone want to place bets on the actual arrival date? January 20th is already taken.
december 21st

Oh, and hope to God the customs officers don't decide to do a really thorough search.
good luck, its worth the wait.

Not much of a "dealer throw in" if you had to pay for it.
