As the Bavaria peeled out, we heard this clunk from the back and we slowed the car down and pulled in to the nearby Wal mart.
We parked her down and took a look in the back... and saw that the center of the rear axle was about 1 inch off the ground and floating...
At first we made fun of Tony being "fat", since he was sitting in the back.

Andy is now kinda frustrated and annoyed. We're trying to brainstorm on what we should do... should we call up someone to give us a ride to Denver? Should we call a tow?
Andy worked at a dealership up in fort Collins with a shop, so he didn't want to spend money fixing it in town, which meant we needed to find a way to drag the beast up there somehow.

Then Andy figured that we could somehow ghetto-rig it to hold for the drive up to Fort Collins... I thought this was going to be pretty tough, with such an old car, we were looking at a pretty heavy chunk of steel that we needed to brace... and on top of that, this was a RWD car that needed to send the power to the back.
This wasn't a problem that we three could handle (Andy was a mechanic, I'm a bio kid, and Tony is a dental school student).
Junkster, who knew we needed a bit more brain behind our solution

We had to call up Brando... aka Roundo, our mechanical engineering friend. Brando worked at Sears Automotive during the summers and worked part time during college. He had done some cool ghetto riggins back in the day...
For instance, we had a old 7 series from Andy's dad that Brando replaced the shocks with metal bars with rubber butts at the ends... talk about neutral corners
