Started noticing a whine when letting out clutch in first gear
This has now happened about three times, and only happens after the ca has been driven appx. 150 miles on the highway, doing 65-70 MPH. I let out the clutch in first gear, and I hear what sounds like synchro whine. Car has 87,500 miles, and I am the only owner.
Acura dealer stated I should start thinking about having a clutch change on my last service, but I did the clutch test (4th gear, press in and out rapidly, no slip), so I figured I had some time yet.
Anybody else ever notice this? I hate to get a clutch change prematurely, and I'm not sure it is the problem here.
Thanks in advance,

Do you have this issue happen everytime after you drive and constant whine after that? Or does it happens once in awhile?
I've had the issue once in a great while. Yes, the dealer even told me to have my clutch repaired when I reported this issue 2 years ago. Clutch is still grabing strong.

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be the throw out bearing. Play around long enough around the friction point, especially under load, and you might be able to replicate it consistently. Of course, riding the clutch is not good, but if you can get it to happen after a few tries, you know the problem
Mine was replaced under warranty. Doesn't necessarily mean the clutch is gone. But it's a great time to upgrade since they take it apart anyways.
