To Spoiler or Not To Spoiler, that is the question

Friday is the day, I go and get my TSX, but the question is should I have the rear wing spoiler put on?

If you like it get it. Its really that easy. I did'nt like it, thought it interferes with the TSX's fine lines and makes it look to tall from the back. But to each his own.

Some people don't think spoliers belong on 4 door sedans period. (I won't mention names)

Not to spoiler, that is the answer.

I don't think it looks bad, but I agree with dabuda that the lip spoiler looks better. I'm going to pursue that one myself.

I was thinking the exact same thing as domn, the back looks too tall with the spoiler.

If your not sure that you want it then don't get it yet. Wait for now. If you decide to get it later no harm. If you get it then decide you didn't want it your stuck with holes in the trunk or a spoiler you dont want.

not to spoiler imo...i agree that it disrupts the lines of the tsx, however if it suits you, so be it.

I like it without the spoiler, but it's just a personal preference.

O.K. O.K. jury's still out on spoilers.
But if I wanted, where would I get the infamous lip spoiler anyhow?
And what if I were in the great white north - Canada?

I'd pass on the spoiler personally. I think the car loses a little of it's unique styling w/the spoiler. I prefer the look to be clean, my car doesn't even have the splash guards. In a nutshell, look at as many pics as you can find, then make the call. Bottom line is, it's your car, your the one that has to look at it daily. My car is on cardomain, if I knew how to post a link I would. Check it out, there's lots of pics from the back without the spoiler. You can always add it later, you can't subtract it however without a body shop.

You will be ruining the lines of the car... HAd the car been something else, maybe then. Don't spoil the lines of your TSX.

The better alternative is the lip spoiler (as mentionned by every other member on this board)...

Cheers

How about spoiler people post some pics. I bought one for my CG and would like to see a pic before I install.

I say don't get the spoiler. Not because I'm against spoilers on 4-door cars, but because this particular spoiler costs WAY too much to be doing nothing except sit there. Have you checked the price?

Hmmm...somehow, I feel out of place...
Anyways, I spoiled-her (I guess in more ways than one)
But, my biggest reason for getting the spoiler is so I can see where her rear is when backing up. I have lazy eye so my depth perception isn't 100%. So I use the spoiler as a reference point. It works wonders.
This is my first attempt to post pics, so I'm going to apologize in advance if they don't show up. I also shrunk them down for faster load time.

And if you're wondering how it looks at night:

I agree, if you can't make up your mind, you can always add it on later. No point patching up four holes if you don't like it.

OEM spoiler look to big for me .... lip spoiler are more suitable for TSX cause it won't ruining the lines of the car and some how look nice. Search lip spoiler in the forums, you can find some pictures of a TSX have lip spoiler on. then you can compare TSX with lip spoiler. OEM spoiler and no spoiler. BUT......... it's your car.. you do what ever you like.. or add it on later..

I don't see the point of a lip. You can barely see it if you drive by someone who has one.

most Euro Accords around here are stock and also there are quite a few 2.0 litre models.

So my Type-S 2.4 with the OEM body kit and spoiler stands out.

even the day I bought it ppl at the dealership commented it looked good compared to the std model.

that was NOT the reason i got the spoiler, but i agree...oem spoiler helps a lot for depth perception when backing into a parking spot

well in all honesty, i don't like the lip spoiler at all, the phase one, the ebay one whatever. the oem spoiler looks decent.

i however, opted not to get it, personally i like the car better without one, but the silver one with the oem one is nice!

well, people will always have their own opinion about things, so do whatever you like. after all, you're hooking up your car for yourself, not others

Personally, I like the rear spoiler on the TSX. When I got my car it didn't have the spoiler on it, but I decided to add it cuz I thought it made the car look better.

Here is a picture of my car with spoiler.

D'OH...actually, I photoshop'ed in the TSX 'R' US in both of the pics. I just didn't want a white splotch across my plates. Though it has crossed my mind in getting that for my plates, with no apostrophes of course.

Here's the underside of the OEM spoiler. It's got TSX under there (kind of hard to see in pic)...not that it really matters...

I believe I can actually get TSX R US. I just have to indicate where I want spacing.

Some cars look great with it, like my Accord Coupe I traded in. I actually included a spoiler in the deal when I bought my TSX, but then I looked at all the pix and decided it looked better without it. Dealer returned the spoiler and refunded me the $, minus the restocking fee. More money for other accessories!

Hey, but if you like it, go 4 it. This is America.

icey, thanks for the link! but isn't our trunk size length is 46"? so the 36" lip is the one you got and fit perfect?

Re: ..

These aerodynamically designed spoilers can finish your car with a clean appearance while providing a sufficient amount of rear end down force to enhance high-speed stability.
Uh-huh

Well, it does look nice though I think I will do it. $15 seems hefty for shipping though.

It came in like a 6 foot box. It probably costs that much for them to ship it..

I saw the spolier on Icey's car and it looked great. I picked one up for my car but I haven't had a chance to paint it and stick it on.

If I end up getting the TSX, I am going to try and put one on it as well. It just might take me 10 months to do it!!!
