So my wife calls me last night....

She's freakin out and says....do I need to let this car (the TSX) warm up before driving it....mind you it's about 30 something outside and she's shopping with her little sister. I say, no, you shouldn't. And she says, "The thing feels like it wants to die on me and just stop, so I've pulled off to the side of the road. I'm gonna sit here for a while and let the car warm up." I just say, okay. What could I do...she's just down the road. Then after we hang up....BOOM...it hits me like a ton of bricks....I call back and ask...."You don't have the thing on Manual Shift do you...you know where you shift the gears into drive...where you can put it into Manual Shift mode....then all I hear is...hey stupid...you knocked the bag into the gear shift. Well, it turns out, her dumb little sister knocked it into the Manual Shift mode, and neither one of them caught it. She must have been revving the f*ck outa the car. So I say, "Hey, that's great...you just broke the new car." And all I could hear was laughter from the other end of the phone.....women....can't live with em.....can't bury em in the back yard...

Funny thing is that alot of people who don't know what it is do that by mistake. My grandmother has a 2001 TL and went on some trip with an niece. When they came back, my grandmother goes "my car was acting funny, it seemed like the engine was trying really hard and there was a 2 on the dash". Needless to say, I had to explain what it meant. I think they should give you something to stick in the slot, just in case someone else drives your car.

Damn thats a good idea

mom did same with mine, she calls me on the cell and goes, "your car really revs a lot, is that normal?"

"mom please move the stick over to the right one notch"

LOL, that's awesome...well, not awesome, but extremely funny since its not my car. Its kinda like that Blonde Star commercial that I hear all the time on the radio...you know how the woman locked herself in the car and had the keys in the car...funny stuff!

Hopefully she didn't drive on it for too long with it in manual mode.

I know it sux that the tranny goes nutz when it goes to sport shift mode when you dont shift properly... thats why I prefer my family to not drive my car since they have no clue how to shift back to right. . . they said it may break ... lol ... It even sux when you're driving 40 then some jerk off friend of mine hit the sportshift to left by accident with his bag.

Well, for one thing, that's the first place the cops look.

If you buried them in your neighbour's yard, that'd be a smarter thing to do.

Yeah, that's why I never buy automatics. They're just too hard to learn how to use.

my suggestion is that...built a gear shift gate so it cant be move to the
left accidently unless you lift the gate up and sport shift it.

At least she didn't drive on the expressway. It would've been redlining the entire time.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Maybe it's your fault for not showing her what the SS is. My wife has one in her Pacifica and she still doesn't know what to do with it...

I'd say cut her some slack. If you never went over it with her and she is like my wife, then she wouldn't know what it is. My wife couldn't care less about the sport shift, but she does know what it does since I play with it every time I get to drive her ride. I know it's hard, but your relationship will last a lot longer with some restraint. I too am learning this.
