So long TSX....

Hi guys, I was one of the first in 03 in palm beach to get my nighthawk black 04 tsx....and now i must bid farewell...just traded in for a Infiniti 2005 g35 Sedan, diamond graphite with stone grey interior.

I must say I think i got a fair deal on both ends, because of the corporation i work for i ended up getting $200 over invoice, and recieved 22K for my trade. It had also been in an accident and had front and rear bumpers replaced. 26K miles

This was a win win situation as the payment went up only 12 bucks, but insurance went down (very surprisingly) by 16 dollars....lady at progressive said they had some promotions on infinitis...never heard of anything like that myself, buy hey, not gonna argue....

why did i get rid of the TSX....well small stuff, rattles were driving my nuts, michelins were balding, engine was making a stange vibration after accident, brake pads needed replacing...

the G is fantastic...05 is up to 290hp, leather is fantastic, super soft and a lot more comfortable...plus its nice to switch to a v6 and rear wheel drive.

ill take some pics tommorow and upload incase anyone wants to take a look...

so long tsx...ill miss your fantastic instrument panel and ambiant blue lights at night

BTW, you gotta read those specs a bit closer on the G35, it's either 280HP for AT or 298 for MT.

I sure would hate to see my gas mileage go from 25-35 to 16-18; especially with premium gas still being required. That would easily offset any reduction in insurance.

Any vehicle that didn't get at least 20 MPG was out of consideration for me when I started looking for a new car. Even the Pontiac GTP Grand Prix (3.8 V6 Turbo) was rated at 20+ MPG. But, otherwise, it sounds like you got an excellent deal.

same as the coupe and since it's lighter than the coupe guess what - of all the G35 variants, the 6MT sedan should be the quickest.

The sedan is lighter than the coupe? Why?

Not to bust your bubble but I just traded my 2004 G35 coupe for an 05 TSX and the Infiniti was loaded with rattles. Both doors had horrible buzzing the doors, a rattle in the rear deck, the dash console where the guages are, and my seat would click/move. The rattles were annoying but I didn't want to bring in the car for just that but the seat drove me crazy so that was my primary reason for bringing it in. I considered trading it in for another coupe but it was hard to find one with the options I want and it was more than I wanted to spend. The TSX is really the best car you can get for the money at that price range.

Either way, good luck with your choice. Both cars are great.

I did consider the gas differential, but the g35 is too sweet a ride for me to pass up on....plus with my new transfer at work i only have to drive 8 miles a day as opposed to the 40-50 i was doing a day when i bought the TSX...the diff in price for insurance was a nice bonus, i was actually quite surprised....

as far as rattle in the the guy who had the g35...that sucks to hear, ive been rattle free since giving up my tsx, granted ive only had it for two weeks, but im hoping nothing like that happens, did you have anything installed like sat radio or lcd screens installed????

on the g35 forums ive heard of a few ppl complaining of rattles, but not like when i first got the TSX and almost every other person on this board was complaining of them, i only had them in the doors on my tsx which was fixed slightly by lowering the window a touch....however that caused a new unpleasant sound!!!!!

also from reading on the g35 forums that the cause of the rattles are mainly in the premium package offered in the 03-04's...a lot of ppl complaining about the Bose and Harmon Kardon speakers...

i didnt get premium....i cant stand bose speakers personally...they are a pain in the butt to replace and dont sound that great....

my parents have a 04 MDX with Bose, and it rattles like crraaaaazy....

I had the base G35 with no Bose system but the rattles weren't coming from having the radio turned up. Also, I had absolutely no mods on the car. I wouldn't have gotten rid of the car but again, priorties change and a 4 door car was much more practical, plus I lowered my payments, insurance, and get better gas mileage...I moved farther from work. I do miss the growl of the VQ engine but the sweet revving Honda motor ain't bad either!
